1900 Park Fair-Dinner-Strawberry soup-fantastic! Requested and received the recipe! The rest of the meal was average and we were a bit disappointed. The character interaction was a bit disorganized, and seemed to need more direction. C+

Chef Mickeys-Breakfast-We are big Chef Mickey fans (have been there several times for dinner, but not breakfast.) We were seated in the back room, which we discovered does tend to take away a lot of the excitment. Although the characters do come around and are patient, it seemed as though something was missing by not being in the large dining area. The food and service were average, not nearly as good as dinner. We will definately try it again for dinner, but don't think we'll go again for breakfast. C+

Ohanas-Dinner-EXCELLENT-We have been here several times and have never had a less than stellar meal! A

Mama Melrose's-Dinner Package-DS had the chicken parm, I had the salmon and DH had the penne. All was good as were the desserts. The server was friendly and just very busy. B-

Portobellos-Dinner-We all had their "speciality" which was a dish of spaghetti and seafood. It was wonderful! Great service and will return. A-

Jimmy Buffet's (City Walk) Lunch - Cheeseburgers are great!

House of Blues-Dinner-Catfish nuggets, cornbread,jambalaya,Po-boy. Service and food were both good. The server did warn us about the spices. B+

Nine Dragons-Lunch-Cashew Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork and Sesame Chicken-all were excellent as was the service. B+

San Angel Inn - Dinner - All of us had different chicken dishes and they were all good. We had a table by the water and it was beautiful. I had read on the boards that some people thought it was too dark and/or loud-we did not think that this was the case at all. We will return. B

Boma's - Dinner - I was concerned at first that DS would not be willing to experiment with new foods, but Boma's changed that! We had excellent food! The soups (and stew) were out of this world, the chicken was great, the lamb and beef dish was fantastic, and I can't remember the names of all the dishes that we had, but they were wonderful. Then the desserts-all were perfect. Can't wait to return. A

We now have a family feud going on as to which restaurant is our family favorite-the tried and true-Ohanas, or our newly visited Boma's! I guess we need another visit!!!!

Thanks for the reviews! I've been wanting to try Chef Mickey's. Now I know dinner is the way to go!

Thanks for taking the time to write such nice reviews. We always enjoy lunch at the House of Blues. Glad you liked the restaurant.

You had a po-boy at the House of Blues? What kind? I had been so looking forward to trying their shrimp po-boy, but I heard they took it off their menu awhile ago. Does your review mean it's back?

Thanks for the reviews!
Not to be nit picky, but could you say whether the Chicken Parm or Penne (Im assuming the the Penne alla Vodka) at MM was better? Ive had the chicken parm before and really liked it but Im debating about going for the penne this time. Just wondering if one seemed better than the other.
Also, was the penne sauce very creamy like an Alfredo or was it more tomato(Ive heard its a mix of cream & tomato?)?
Thanks for any help! :D

Thanks for the wonderful reviews. Glad you liked Portobello YC , we tried it for the first time on our last trip and just loved it.

Thanks for the reviews...especially because we have PSs for Ohana's, Boma, Mama Melrose and Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. We decided to eat at restaurants that we normally don't visit!

The po'boy was shrimp, lettuce, tomato and a spicy (but not too much) sauce on a "submarine" roll. In fact, about half way thru, I finished eating the sandwich with my fork because it was so large.

At MM the penne was the penne alla vodka, and although the sauce was a tomato based sauce, it was thicker and creamier than a marinara. Both the penne and the chicken parm were good, but I think the penne was a little more adventuresome.

Thanks Madhatter. I think you sealed my decision...in the nick of time. ;)

Yay! Thanks, Madhatter! I'm hoping it's still there in October.

Hi madhatter, thanks for the reviews!:sunny:

Have a question about Nine Dragons: Was the sweet and sour pork heavily breaded?

Have a comment on Chef Mickey breakfast: We had the same experience of being seated in the back room and feeling "left out" of the fun. It was a big disappointment for us and we won't try again.

Sounds like you had some good meals. Thanks for sharing.

We sat in the back section of Chef Mickey's,too. I agree you do feel a bit left out of all the excitement.
