Quick Question: Remote Cords

I just bought a flash bracket on eBay and I'm going to have to pick up a remote cord to go with it. The Nikon model is an SC-28. I like to buy Nikon gear but in this case, I was wondering if there was any reason I shouldn't buy a knockoff cable.

I have a knock off SC-29. I think it was 45 at my local camera shop, and brand name SC-29's are around $70, I think..... The one I got was in a gray box, and had Nikon branded instruction manuals with it. So I think it is an SC-29, just not branded that way.
I have has zero problems with it.
