We are leaving in 15 days to Disney. This is our first vacation and it is a surprise for our kids ages 13, 11, 8. They know that we are flying to Florida but they think it is to visit a relative. We are trying to think of a creative way to tell them that they are going to disney for xmas. DH suggested asking the captain to make an announcement over the PA saying something. Does anyone know if they would do this and if so do I ask a flight attendant? This is there first time flying too. We will be flying with Delta. Any other suggestions on surprising them. I ordered maps and my first thought was to give them each a map and tell them that was where we were going. I want this to be something they won't forget please help.

Thanks!

You can buy Disney themed xmas cards at the Hallmark, :santa: and give them to your kids at breakfast (after you make mickey head pancakes, of course)

They're a good age to tell a bit beforehand so they have time to be excited and daydream. After school is out, or else they'd be doing no work at all.

This is what my girlfriend did with her teenagers - she borrowed a huge disneyworld cardboard placard from a travel agent, put it in front of the tree while another relative took the kids out, then when they came back this massive cardboard Disney promo was in their face. They went nuts. Keep in mind she booked alot of Disney trips from this travel agent. Maybe you know someone?

Don't worry, no matter what you do, being in Disney for the first time in itself is amazing, and they'll never forget it. Have a blast. :earboy2:

I will tell you what I am going to do! We are giving our kids a January trip for their Christmas present. My DS actually gave me the idea- he said, "Mom, wouldn't it be cool if I opened a card and balloons popped out and we could go to Disney World?" (This was while he was watching tv and saw the celebrations commercial.) So I have ordered Mickey shaped balloons and will fill them with helium so when they open the big box from us, the balloons will pop out and we will tell them we are going to Disney! I also made a photobook on Snapfish from our previous trips and at the end it says we are going again. I just can't wait until Christmas morning!

belle & beast has an excellant idea. I love it. Be sure to tell them ahead of time so y'all can enjoy talking about it and planning it. Let each one choose something special they want to do (within budget) so you can be sure to let each one have a wonderful time. My son wanted to just ride the fast rides in MK. Who knew? So to him it was wonderful that we got to skip the slow ones. I would have tried to do everyone if we hadn't talked about it before hand.
