Do we need to worry about bug bites in May? (We won't be camping or anything, just staying at OKW and going to parks) Thanks!

Although Disney does a great job keeping bugs down, the mosquitos are out in full force already. You might want to bring repellant.

Thanks! I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with them, up here we have til June or July before they start biting...

I've never been bitten at WDW. I get eaten up at home. We have a small natual/woods are in our backyard and we can't use it in the summer without bug spray (which I hate to use). We usually go to WDW in the summer to escape the bugs here. They must spray really well. Two summers ago we stayed at the Poly and its very damp there and we were fine.

Thanks. I hate bug spray too (especially for my son), so I will just be bringing some Benedryl type cream, JIC. If it really does turn out to be bad, we'll just have to buy some down there.

We were there last May and had no problem at all with mosquitos. My DD and I both get eaten alive at home the minute we step outside. The only bugs we noticed were the harmless, non-biting lovebugs. They were everywhere.

Do you think I will have a problem at OKW or any other places in WDW, aside from the parks, or do they keep it under control throughout "the world" ?

I wouldn't think you'd have a problem at your resort or outside the parks. We stayed at CSR and spent plenty of time walking around the lake as well as at the pool. Neither of us got a single bite. You could bring bug spray just in case, but you shouldn't need it.
