Quick question for anyone who just returned from WDW

If you used Magical Express, how long did it take from the time your plane touched down to the time you got to the front desk of your resort?

I didn't time it. A lot depends on whether you have to wait for a bus. We were first in line which leads me to believe that a bus just left. The driver waited until the bus was full before he left so we sat on the bus for at least 15 minutes. The buses stop at multiple resorts, so a lot depends on if you are the first dropped off or the last. From what I have read people say to leave at least 45 minutes from airport to your hotel.

This was two weeks ago:

Plane landed at 6:10p.
Forgot to put tags on luggage so had to wait at baggage claim.
Boarded ME at 7:00p.
Departed at 7:10p.
Entered BC lobby at 7:50p.
Went to room.
Entered EPCOT at IG around 8:15p.

When planning I assume three hours from landing to being able to leave room to head somewhere, but as is the case here, can end up only being two.

It generally takes 60 to 90 minutes.

The day/time and time of year you're arriving can also play a factor. On previous trips, we fell into that 60-90 minute range (maybe tack on another 10-15 minutes from plane touch-down, since we checked our watches when we were walking up to DME). However, last trip we arrived mid-morning on a Saturday and it was packed. We had to wait in line through two buses before we got on a bus, so it took a good 2 hours from the time we got off the plane until we were getting to the resort. I'd suspect Saturdays are just busy arrival days.

I have had times as short as 50 mins and times as long as 90 mins. Here is a breakdown of how times could run...
Plane lands. You get off...now you start timing.
Gate to DME area....8-15 mins (depends on tram arrival and speed of walking)

Check in and go to bus line....1-5 mins

Bus line...1-20 mins (if you just missed a bus, it could be a 20 min wait)

On bus....1-20 mins (first on usually has a longer wait..last on, shorter time)

Ride to resort....30-45 mins (depends on which resort on the route you are)

Most people are going to fall in the middle of most of those times. So, figure on 90 mins and you'll most likely arrive in under that. But, I seldom make any plans for less than 3 hrs after landing.

Our last ME experience (August) was - interesting. lol!

We landed at 11:20pm. Had our bags & were on the bus by Midnight. The bus was about 2/3s full.
We departed MCO about 12:20pm...

It was the slowest ride on any mode of transportation I have ever taken! Bar none!
The driver never once hit the speed limit, even on the highways. smh. He was happily putting in time - and taking his time.

We stopped at CBR, Pop, AoA, BW - each stop longer then the last. Finally on to the YC! our stop

We were at the check in desk at 2:10am

After dropping us off the bus had one more stop - BC & BCV. We could hear the last 3 people on board complaining loudly as we were met by the CM with the iPad at the YC portico...

I took excessively detailed notes in March when we flew in. This was the heart of Spring Break.

5:00pm Plane arrives at gate.
5:25pm Off plane, potty break, run to DME.
5:27pm On bus to BCV
5:32pm On the road
6:00pm Through the first welcome gate where Mickey and Minnie are.
6:04pm At CBR, where 19 people get off, including a few bags
6:07pm Depart CBR
6:12pm Arrive BWI
6:16pm Finally pull up to let people off at BWI - 2 people get off.
6:18pm Depart BWI
6:20pm Arrive BC, where 6 people (including us) got out.
6:27pm Receive keys to room.

So, 87 minutes exactly from the time the plane arrived at the gate until we had the keys in our hand.

Got back two weeks ago. Plane landed at 7:10. Checked in at Yacht Club at 8:40. We were led directly to the bus when we got to ME and didn't wait very long on the bus. We also moved slowly and stopped for a toddler potty break on the way to the ME.
