Quick Question - Being Dreamed?

We're going as a family of 5. We're planning on splitting up some of the time, so if one group gets dreamed does the other lose out? Is that how it works?

I can't give you an official answer but here is what happened to us in May. DH, DS, FIL, & MIL went to It's a Bug's Life. Me, SIL, DD - 3 and twins - 1 stayed outside because we thought it would be too scary for the little ones. On the way out of the theatre DH, DS, FIL & MIL received Dream Fast Passes. My husband knew after the amount of time I'd spent here and planning the trip that if they all got the passes and we didn't it would have killed me. So DH explained to CM that there were family members who waited with the little ones while everyone else went inside. He said to go to Guest Services and what information we needed to provide to the CM's there and magically here came a dream CM and had 5 extra Dream Fast Passes. We yelled and screamed, he said that "Disney couldn't be held responsible for breaking up a family"

I dont' know if we were unique because we were waiting outside the attraction or not, but it made our vacation!!!

that is normally not the case. my kids were ahead of me cuz I walk much slower and they were told if mom was not here before they were done then mom loses out. pretty much, sucked to be me.. .

I was told by a CM to go to Guest Services and they would cover you. This information is for DFP's I have no idea about anything else.

I think it really depends. In Sept, DS and I were on Dumbo. I noticed a woman and her tiny one, who were waiting for her hubby and bigger kid (who were on Dumbo), move from one spot to the other, and they suddenly had dream ears and two in her hand for the ones on Dumbo. (I was really bored on Dumbo b/c if I focus on it I feel ill, so I was people-watching while DS made us go up and down)

I noticed where the Dream people were, and signaled to DH (on the ground) to go over there (others were doing the same). DH went, with stroller chock-full of "I have a family" obviousness, and they REFUSED to give him even one, even though they had them, b/c they had decided that they were for families. Who were present.

Even though they had just handed a woman and her sleeping baby FOUR ears while the rest of her family was on the exact same ride as we were...

They have the Power to choose what happens each time, and it's not always going to be the same, or fair.

We were dreamed twice last visit. The first time, my husband and one daughter had gone on ahead. My other daughter and I ran into the dream team who gave us fast passses. I asked to get them for the other two, and they said that they actually needed to be there. So I asked them if they would wait while I went after them, which they were happy to do.

The second time, my husband and daughter met them and were given lanyards - but only two.

In both cases I think the dream team did the right thing. They are extras after all. It's smart to keep a family together with fastpasses, but we didn't need to get two extra lanyards, even if it would have been nice!

We really appreciated what we received - at the same time, we respect the fact that they don't have to give out anything. I am wondering whether they are smart to keep on with this promotion, as it seems so easy for it to backfire (people missing out, as we have seen), or create too high an expectation.

My husband and son got dreamed with fastpasses in October. We were a group of 5 also, but were split up at that time. So they were the only ones in our group to get them. They said we would have to be there in order to get them. So in our experience, yes if you split up you take the chance of missing out.

My 3 kids and I were there the weekend of Dec 8th, and my two oldest ran over to TOT. So my youngest and I were walking around and got dreamed with fastpasses. I asked about my other two who were on the ride, and a VERY nice CM told me to go to Guest Services and "ask". Not always do they have enough to hand out to the rest who missed out, but in our case they had two more :thumbsup2 We had to state where we were, and what time we got them just to verify. ;)

In August, I went with a few friends. I walked around the park in the morning by myself. I won a fastpass. They asked me if I was with others. I told them I had friends still at the hotel. They told me to go to City Hall, with them, tell them the exact time and location and they would give them fastpasses. Nice!!!!

I am so glad to hear that someone was dreamed. We were just there for three days and never saw the team at all and saw no cast members that were not stationed at a ride. VERY FEW EMPLOYEES at all.....Very sad, as it did not have the happy Disney feel we have become so used to at WDW.

It happened to us in August and we went to City Hall and gave the FP's to us and wished us a pleasent stay. We gave another set of FP's the following day to another family of 6. We felt others needed to experience the fun.

wow thanks for all the info. Do these fastpasses only work one day or multiple days?

hi there, we were at DL in sept and we got dreamed...we are also a family of5 and my kids were ahead of me a little and we were WAY ahead of my dh(he was at least 5 min behind us)...my kids were approached by the dream team and handed fastpasses...as i approached, another family was jumping all over the lady...she didnt seem impressed at all...as the lady pretty much snatched the dream passes away from the dream team lady(and yelled at her family to hurry up and get over her before they were gone-uh, hello, they were trying to hand them to my family :lmao: ), she was one short for my dh (who still hadnt caught up)...she told me to wait and she would be back...she took about 5 minutes and snuck up to me and tried to hide what she handing me...i guess she didnt want to attract any attention...Friends of ours were there the next month and they got dreamed with the penthouse-how awesome...they got to ride in the parade and got dream fastpasses...they had no idea what was happening to them and it was the first time for all of them at DL...how much would we have loved to get that one..the dh was sitting outside build a bear, and they told him if he had been few seconds later he wouldnt have won, actually, no one would have...how cool
