A group of my friends and I are contemplating driving to Disneyland for the weekend in March. We would be meeting a friend that lives in Southern California. Could she buy the 8-10 of us discount tickets, or are there measures in place to prevent So. Cal Residents from buying tickets for people that don't live in southern california? Thanks so much!

I've always been able to buy SoCal tickets for friends from out of town. I'm not sure if there is a limit of how many SoCal tickets one person can buy at the box office. Disneyland.com offers print at home tickets and the SoCal ticket is offered there. You might be able to get tickets that way.

I was just checking on Disneyland.com and the 'fine print' says "proof of California residency required for admission". We were thinking of having a relative purchase tickets for our family, as well, and now I'm a bit concerned.

Does anyone have any more actual experiences they can report?

I picked up a ticket for my cousin at the grocery store (Pavilions), she was never asked for ID. At that time they were doing the 2fer ticket prices.

I was told that they do check ID at the gate. Not sure if they really look at the picture on the ID though.

I want a So Cal annual pass, but couldn't get much info here. My cousin lives in Irvine, my debit card has my foto along with my 2 kids, that's foto ID in my opinion. I'd even have my cell phone bill go to my cousins address ~ I'd love to know if it would work.

I have been renewing my pass for years now, but I think when I originally picked one up I was asked for my drivers license. Now they just ask if the address is still current.

They will ask for the ID at time of purchase... But not at the turnstile. Unless it is a multi day ticket and the name of the ticket holder is on it..

Purchasing the so cal annual pass. I bought it while I was in NY and used my mom's Credit card and her address and name. (She lives in So. Cal)Had them sent to her house. Was able to get them and even had my NY address on my pass. No questions were asked..
