Quick question about Mara @ AKL

I was just wondering if there is a take-out option at Mara so you can eat back in your room, or if you have to eat your food in the restaurant?

Yes you can do take out.

It is a counter service restaurant. You get your food and pay for it and then you can take it and eat it wherever you want. There are tables inside the Mara to sit at (and also just outside), but if you want to take your food back to your room, that is also fine.

We took food from Mara back to our room a few times. Had dinner on the balcony watching the animals, it was great. Will be doing it again in a few months

Great, thanks for the answers. I just wondered if you were restricted to having it on a plate or if they provided takeaway boxes to keep it nice and warm(ish) so you can get back to your room!

Some resorts have the plastic covers. But I don't think AKL does because of the animals. Not sure just a guess. Anyone know for sure?

They have covers as well as large paper bags... if you don't see them out, ask at the register.
