Hello there!

I have never been to Kimonos...but i LOVE sushi and want to enjoy it in "the World!" I was wondering if Kimonos has a sushi "boat" that you can order. I know you sushi lovers know what I mean...the big wooden boat that is usually a chef's choice type thing. Thanks for any info!

No "boat" last year when we were there, but sit at the sushi bar and let the chef's take care of you with his choices. The sampler "flight" was fun if you enjoy saki.

Thanks for the response. Now, when you say chef's choices...do you pay a set price and then let him choose? I saw on the menu they have a sushi or sashimi platter for around $20 (I can't remember the exact price right now.) I guess that is what I would be looking for.

My DH and I just tried a sushi place in our neughborhood and ordered the boat for two, which was chef's choice. I am always leery of "chef's choice" cuz I think they may try to get rid of stuff that doesn't sell well. We were BLOWN AWAY by the array of sushi on this boat. My DH and I have HUGE appetites, especially when it comes to sushi...and we could NOT finish it! It was $50 and worth every penny. I would love to have that kind of dining experience in "the world." Even if it costs a little more.

Ah, tough shushi choice between Kimonos and California Grill. Both are excellent (and the 20% DVC discount at Kimonos is very nice). Both are excellent. One option at Cali Grill is a huge platter and a wide variety of pieces. Unless a well-versed in sushi he downside there is little interaction if you had questions as to exactly what you had in front of you.

Kimonos, at the sushi bar, you had the opportunity to talk to the sushi chef as he worked. I wouldn't worry about the him trying to rid himself of the less popular pieces. We had a good time watching the process.

End result.....you can't go wrong either way.

Thank you, drclaws. I keep forgetting about CG in regards to sushi. I just receved the Disney Dining Experience card in the mail so I believe I get 20% off at both of those restaurants. I can't wait to break it in!

Wow, combining sushi and WDW...I will be in HEAVEN!
