quick question about front loading washing machine Kenmore

totally off topic, but can you use regular washing machine detergent, do you need less for a front loader machine, and most importantly, where do you put the detergent.

Staying at friend's place and no instructions on the machine.

No, you need HE detergent. The dispenser for ours pulls out on the top left corner. Inside you will see a set up for powder or liquid, move that divider to whichever det you have. Some will say you can use less of reg detergent but you wouldn't want to mess things up at someone elses house.

Yes you can use regular detergent according to our manual for our front loading Kenmore. Though the manual highly recommends HE detergent in order for a longer life of the machine. If you HAVE to use regular detergent you have to be very careful that you don't use too much, otherwise you are going to have a soapy mess.
