My daughter and I have enjoyed seeing everyone's magic bands on the threads in here, pinterest and google. lol I just have a quesiton...
:confused3
Do any of the embellishments decrease the effectiveness of the magic band?

I was assuming it would be fine since its RFID not just a little sensor in the Mickey head similar to a TV or whatnot. (You know- like when the kids are standing in front of the cable box as you are trying to get their show on and the channel won;t change;)) I just want some glitter on mine. lol We are also going to do the Temp Tattoo method and my daughter wants rhinestones on her mickey head. I was going to use some E6000 to secure them- that is OK right? lol She'd be so disappoiinted if she needed to get a new band bc the one we made didn't work. And she'd end up w gray. Eek- she might cry as she has pink now. lol

Please fill me in on your experiences...
Thanks! :flower3:

Paint, nail polish, tattoos and plastic gems will not prevent the RFID chip from working at scan points.

I have yet to hear of a band that didn't work after being decorated although it would likely involve plastering a large item, likely made of metal, over the Mickey head area. However, items glued to the scan points are probably more likely to fall off with repeated touching to scanners.

That is exactly what I was thinking. But I read one tutorial and the person wrote like 6x in all caps not to cover the mickey head and I was like...why...
lol OK thank you...

all of mine are covered with paint and/or glitter glue. They all work. Several friends have stuck plastic gems on theirs. They all work. The gems tend to fall off though. Use strong glue.

Awesome.
I'm going to use E6000. It is the strongest thing I know of. Unless you know of anything stronger! I'd gladly try it... I have made my daughter crystal embellished shoes using the E6000 and it worked great. Out of 4 gross, only a couple popped off!

I used super glue to glue little rhinestones and the had the bigger ones glued onto the Mickey head. My band worked nearly every time with them glued on and I didn't lose any.
