We are thinking about a one night stay in Philadelphia next Saturday night. It would be DH, DS14, DS15, and me.

Any suggestions where to stay? We typically like to stay right in the middle of things, park the car, and walk when we visit large cities. When looking through Expedia, I'm not sure what area would be best.

Thanks for any information,
Karen

Karen, I looked at Expedia and can tell you that the Loews, Wyndham, Marriott and Sheraton Rittenhouse are all great hotels in the best locations. They're all downtown within reasonable distance to the Philly things that you would want to do (like the Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, Penns Landing, etc.) The Loews and Marriott are probably closer to those things (they're at 12th street), while the Wyndham and Sheraton are a little further west (at 17th and 18th streets) Independence Hall (where most of the things are) is around 5th street.

Thanks princesspumpkin-that is the exact information I needed! :D

KarenB, I should have been more specific about the Wyndham and Marriott. The Wyndham Franklin Plaza and the Marriott Downtown are the ones that I was referring to.

The Omni is located at 4th and Chestnut Sts.
There is the Hyatt at Penns Landing on Columbus Blvd
The Sheraton on Dock St.
Best Western on Chestnut St. between 3rd and 2nd Sts.
Holiday Inn at 4th St. and Arch Sts.

These are near a lot of the historical stuff in Philadelphia
