I thought I'd share our experience at Animal Kingdom yesterday, Sunday, 12/10. We were at Disney for the weekend and had FOP Fastpasses for 5:25pm. I was hoping to get them earlier in the day, since we were also doing the 6:30 ROL show for which we had dinner package entrance, and I was concerned about timing. I kept trying to modify our Fastpasses on the app and successfully found some for 12:30 at about 11am (party of 5!). As soon as we checked in with those Fastpasses (our 3rd for the day), I began refreshing the app to try to get NRJ Fastpasses. As we were exiting FOP, additional FOP Fastpasses became available for 3:40. We loved the ride so much that I grabbed those. We used them about 4 and I began refreshing again trying to get NRJ. Spent much of the next 3 hours refreshing and never did get NRJ. I did have a 3rd set of FOP show up but I let them go. We planned to ride NRJ at closing but the line was still saying 65 minutes at 7:30 (I know it's often inflated at closing) and we decided to instead let the kids ride Primeval Whirl one last time before leaving.
So, FOP twice but no NRJ. We'll have to watch it on YouTube or something...
The moral is, for those of you that don't have FOP Fastpasses yet, refresh, refresh, refresh!
BTW, the park felt very crowded to me. They added a second ROL a week or two prior and both were pretty full. Lion King was SRO at 5. FOP and NRJ were both over 2 hours stand-by through much of the afternoon.
