We got back yesterday. It went way too quickly, as always. DD complained it wasn't long enough, lol. No matter how long you go for, you always 'need' and extra few days. Next trip I am booking at least 2 more days than park ticket days to force us to have some more relaxing time though. Last year's 16 day trip definitely made it less traumatic to leave.
I demonstrated my enthusiasm about being back at work today by asking if I can take 3 weeks next year
The answer was no!
Okay, so here are my highs and lows:
HIGHS
One of the best things we did was the resort photo session at the Poly. Incredible pictures! We got 79 on our CD plus 2 x 8x10 and 5 x 5x7 prints and they can be added to our PP CD for borders, etc.
LOWS
Oh and we met two snakes. DD almost stood on the first one
It was her first encounter with that form of wildlife. Now she has seen one for real!
MAGICAL MEMORIES
Sitting with DD at the kids table at POFQ colouring in Disney pictures.
On a warm evening during our MNSSHP night, sitting on the ground at MK near the Indy Speedway sharing a frozen cherry eclipse with DD comparing our loot from our candy bags.
More details on all of the above will follow and I will post some of the 2000+ pictures we took with our cameras too.
Thank you to all of you for your help and support in planning this trip. It was truly amazing. I will be doing the budget this weekend for our trip next year. Just trying to decide if we should do October again or go with April 2012.
ENTERTAINING GUESTS
There are always some of these little things that either make you go "Huh?" or want to laugh out loud.
Our best was getting on the bus to DHS last Tuesday. Two got on and one asked the driver if this bus was going to Disney World. Okay, this has happened before, but clearly the driver is more used to it than I would have thought. He immediately asked her if she was going to the Magic Kingdom. She said she thought so (they were looking for the castle on the Epcot map, sitting on the DHS bus
). When the lady finally understood that they were on the wrong bus she asked if the driver could stop and let them hop out on the side of the road
Luckily for her we went round Riverside that trip so I told her to get off at the next stop and wait for the MK bus.
Then there was the guy and his pals at AK who wanted to know if Epics was open. It took me a few moments to realise he might be talking about Epcot. I gave him my Times Guide for the parks and we had enough time in the line for Kali River Rapids for me to help him out with some basic info on his options for the night. They were actually loads of fun - so much so that I asked them if we should tell the CM we are a party of 8 so we could ride together and it was a hoot! He was adamant that he was very good at staying dry on wet rides. It was hiliarious because he may as well have swam in the river he got so soaked.

Okay, so here are my highs and lows:
HIGHS
- POFQ. We just loved it! Loved the size, buses were great, never had to wait long, rarely went round Riverside, CMs were incredible, great room location, check in (not OLCI) took 5 minutes. It is a definite - we are going back there.
- House of Blues. Best restaurant we ate at. The food was awesome, service was great, atmosphere was lovely
- Boat to DTD. We really enjoyed this. It only took 15 minutes so quicker than waiting for a shared bus and we always seemed to time it well enough to just walk on before it left!
- Weather. It was gorgeous. A bit cool in the evenings on some nights but all sunshine and no rain at all while we were there. I live in Scotland. I do not have any appreciation for the rain. It was hotter last week than the first week though.
- Photopass: It was easier to get the photographers this trip for some reason. I thought there would be fewer of them around being a slower season than Easter, but we got over 300 pics on our card!
- Ohana: We really enjoyed our meal there. The service was good, food was delicious and it was an excuse to walk around the Poly.
- QSDP: We were more clever with our usage of credits this year and actually managed to use all our credits by the time we left. Although we did end up cancelling 2 TS meals - there was still WAY too much food and we used almost all our snack credits on things to bring home and frozen drinks, fruit bowls and cold snack items.
- MNSSHP: We didn't do anything I had intended when I bought the tickets, but we had a great time. I would do it again!

LOWS
- Cape May: It was the priciest of our character meals. Service was pretty good and food was great but there was something missing. I don't know what it was. Also, despite having a reservation for the last seating, I have never seen characters rush through a table so quickly. We did it so DD could see Minnie, but we won't be back in a hurry. Not a bad experience at all, but as I said, something was missing and I can't put my finger on it. The atmosphere was very cold, right from check in.
- Hollywood Studios: That park has never really grabbed me, but this time I was bent on getting the most out of it. Sorry folk, it's still my least favourite park - by a long shot.
- Fantasmic: Okay, get your flames out! We finally went to see it. It is a spectacular show, but I prefer Wishes and Illuminations. You will NOT find me lining up 90 minutes early to see it unless DD or someone I am with really wants to see it. For me, it was a once off must-do.
- Crowds at MK: Horrendous. Not that different to peak season crowds. I know the party nights have something to do with it, but we have got more done there in the Easter week than we managed to do this time. Even at rope drop by 9.05 am you were battling crowds through Main Street.
