This is our first trip (my husband and I) during halloween time at DL:yay: and we decided to buy the Mickey's halloween party tickets. My first question is, would it be werid if me and my husband dressed up even though we have no kids? Not dressing up in anything scary, just real simple. don't want to dress up then realize that the only people who are dressing up are the one's who have kids. Didn't know if this would make us look werid or not.:confused3 My second question is, do adults tick or treat too or is this just for the kidos? How long do they hand out the candy for? the entire time of the party or just the first couple of hours? I know some of these questions are werid, but I was just wondering because I LUV me some candy!!! Thanks for your help!:goodvibes

My friend and I went to MHP last year and we were the minority. It won't look weird at all.

My wife and I go every year, and have gone to the Halloween Party 3 times in recent years. We have no children but we always dress up and go trick-or-treating. Wouldn't be weird at all.

Forgot to mention, we are going on October 1st to celebrate her birthday on the 2nd.

Just echoing other thoughts.

1. Definitely would not be weird to dress up as adults, with or without kids. I read somewhere that part of Disney is "being able to exercise the privileges of childhood." I firmly believe dressing up for Halloween falls into that category.

2. Trick-or-Treat to your heart's content!!! I went to two parties last year (Tuesday and Friday night--wanted to see how the crowd size differed), and it seems like there were more adults in line than kids. The cast members are passing out so much sweet stuff so fast that they hardly have time to look up and see who's asking. They didn't seem to hand out any more to the kids than the adults.

Have fun!!!!

We are going to the party at Disneyland for the first time this year, but we attended Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom last year. I would assume they are similar. Anyway, I would say that people without costumes were a very small minority, as most people were dressed up. We saw many groups of adults with no kids who had awesome and incredibly detailed costumes! My favorites were a group from the Haunted Mansion, and a guy dressed up at Sorcerer Mickey with a bunch of gal pals dressed as brooms. So I think you should totally do it! How many other opportunities do you have to dress up?

Thanks guys for all your unput I REALLY appreciate it very much! I so totally want to dress up. (going as a kitten or an angel.:littleangel: haven't decided yet) Does anyone know how long they hand out candy? Is it for the entire time of the party or maybe just the first few hours? Are all the rides open or only selected ones? Thanks again to all of you!! :goodvibes

They more or less hand out candy the whole time, or at least they did last year. By the end of the night some of the individual stations on the paths started to run out of candy, at least on our trip. (But lines are MUCH longer earlier--I would definitely do the trick-or-treating later.)

Almost all rides are open...Toontown is closed, the boats on the Rivers of America are probably closed, Innoventions is closed, I think the Main Street attractions are closed, and It's a Small World may or may not be closed. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything else that's closed.

Have a great time!

Hello all,

We are going to MHP on Oct. 31st, so I know it's going to be a zoo, but I was wondering if there were any tips out there to what to do first, where to head to first etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Definitely dress up and enjoy all aspects of the party :) We were lucky enough to be selected as Honorary guests in the parade last year (based on DS's costume, LOL) and all the other guests picked were adults (three groups of 2 in addition to our family). All the costumes they had on were amazing!. I didn't realize that until just now. My two kiddos were the only kids that were selected for that one, LOL. So yes, Adults definitely enjoy dressing up :thumbsup2

They will hand out candy the entire time (some stations may run out temporarily, but new candy will be delivered there). When we left last year, they even had stands at the front gates and gave each of us a huge handful on the way out.

If you are interested in a picture with Mickey and Minnie, I would definitely find out where they will be and head there first. That is always the longest line in the park. I think if Jack Sparrow is out, that will be another long one. So if pictures with characters are important, you might want to get that out of the way first.

They hand out candy as long as they still get loaded back up. This will be our 4th Halloween and you will have a blast, even as adults with no kids. Just jump into the spirit of the evening. :cool1: This year looks to be even more fun as they will have more music parties. Also even though POC is closed it looks as though they will have stage areas set up with characters there in a Pirate Party of sorts. If you want to get a look at the rides that are open, keep checking the Halloween super thread. I am sure someone over there will be posting a picture of the map soon and it has the open rides noted. I would look at mine from last year but I gave it away as I thought we were not going this year. But silly me DH is a closet Disney fanatic and couldn't stand to not go.:wizard: If you do make your way over to the super thread, check out the first page on the table of contents. I posted a picture of our candy for the night. 2 adults and a 10 yr old and we gathered a grocery bag FULL. We each gathered about 5 lbs of candy a piece! :scared1: BTW, take a back pack if you plan on doing serious trick or treating. They give you a bag at the entrance, last year it was very small. We would fill it up and then dump it into the backpack. Much easier to carry especially when you go on rides. :cloud9:
Enjoy!
