DD and I are trying to get her tooth to come out, we're using an apple without much luck!

The tooth is in the top front, and bleeding, so I think we are close!

TIA!

If the tooth is really loose, I used to take a tissue to grab the tooth and pull straight down. Out pops the tooth and along comes the tooth fairy! My kids would come to me to take them out when they got tired of them just dangling there. Good luck!:flower3:

I do the same thing. Grab the tooth in a tissue and rock it back and forth to break it away from the root, or skin that's holding it in.

Gently run a piece of floss (those little flosser sticks work best) between the tooth and the gum line. The floss usually pops the tooth right out. :)

Ewwwwww! I'm getting the willies just reading this thread. I *hated* loose teeth when I was little. DS just lost his second one and I was so happy it came out at summer camp.

For what it's worth, mine had a tendency to fall out if I ate chocolate that was cold from the refrigerator. One fell out and fell down into the bottom of a hollow chocolate easter bunny. I was ticked off that mom made me throw the rest of the bunny away!

Good luck to your DD. Hope the tooth fairy comes tonight!

Tie floss around the tooth and pulled straight down for a top tooth. We tried it with DS and it wasn't working and I couldn't get the floss off of the tooth so I told DS to try to pull the floss off and out popped the tooth. The apple thing never worked for us either.

My DH put ice on dd's gum for a few seconds before hand. That seemed to help numb the pain of the wiggle/yank for her.

Our Dentist recommended using orajel to numb the gum and let DD pull it out. Her new adult tooth was coming through behind the loose tooth.

We had some hurricaine numbing gel and it worked wonderful. We pushed down on the loose tooth and out it came and DD didn't cry! Her first tooth came out while she was sleeping!

Unfortunately the only way that we could get my son's teeth out was for my husband to tell him that he was just going to "wiggle" it to see how loose it was. Then he would "yank" it out. My son was fine and glad it was over, but he fell for it for the bottom to two teeth. Now the top two are loose, so we will see if he falls for it again.

I'm sure it's out by now, but for future use this is what I did with my DD. When it got to that point where it was so close to being out, I'd tell her she had something in her teeth - whatever veggie she was eating, or a poppy seed. Didn't matter what, but that she should brush to get it out. Of course, the mystery food was always next to the loose tooth. :thumbsup2 If she "couldn't get it", I'd take the brush and gently brush the loose tooth until it came out. We did this four times and she never caught on. Of course, she's 9 now, so when the next wave starts to come out, I doubt it'll work.

A few times we have had our children's front teeth fall out while eating soft ice cream. I think that the cold numb's the gums a little bit and the child let's his guard down and it comes right out. (We have had 3 teeth on 2 kids come out this way!). Hope it happens soon!

I tied a piece of floss around the loose tooth, gave the child my makeup mirror (it's magnified) and told her to do a puppet show with the tooth. She played with it, pulling the string to see the tooth gape, got a little excited and wham, there was the tooth! She fell for it twice, the others fell out at school or when brushing her teeth-- all of those were accompanied by loads of drama.
