I thought I'd ask you guys because you all have such great ideas. I am looking for craft ideas that are quick and easy to do for a craft show /bazaar in early November. They cannot be food items. We are trying to raise money for our youth groups trip. TIA!

Hi
Just an idea
Scented Cinnamon Ornaments
"Scents Of The Season"

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I make many fresh boxes of these each year.
I use mini Christmas cookie cutters.
I buy my cinnamon and ribbon from the Dollar store.
You can use small Christmas themed baggies or small jewelry sized boxes to package.
I also use a dehydrator to dry when making these with kids at school, the classroom smells wonderful!
You can just air dry them.
One year when we were going to Disney for Christmas I made a whole bunch of
Cinnamon Mickey heads for our tree.

Melt and pour soap items and bath bombs. I don't think you should start making soap (cold process or hot process) unless you have experience with lye, so melt and pour would be nice!

Easy made bath and body products like bath salts, or some kind of soak. Lip balm lotions......all easy made

If anyone can crochet, kitchen dish cloths. Gloves can be knit or crochet.

Have a gift wrapping booth at the the mall???

Have you asked any of the kids what kind of talents they have? That would be a good way to figure out products based on what they already know. Or you could auction them off in teams to help with holiday chores; cleaning, wrapping, cookie baking, putting up (or taking down) a tree.

Hire the Youth Group out to song, if they can carry a tune

I always donate a stack of crocheted dishcloths they only take about a hour to make and they sell like hotcakes. :)

:thumbsup2 Teach the kids how to knit or crochet - the basics won't take long, hand them cotton thread and send them off. People love these and they're really easy to make. In fact, that's the only thing I can reliably knit without screwing up the pattern in strange ways, because there is no pattern!

Something really quick is beaded Icicle ornaments. You buy various sizes and shapes of clear cystal plastic beads. Then string them building an icicle shape, going from the largest at the top to the smallest at the bottom.
I did this as a craft at a Christmas party for about 100 kids of all ages. It was quite interesting to see the different combinations the kids came up with and the parents all loved them.
Display them on a tabletop tree when you sell them so people can see how pretty they look hanging, sparkling with the tree lights.

How about making decorated hair clips for the holidays? Get some basic hair clips and attach ribbons, felt shapes, sequins, etc. You could make some for the holidays and some in other colors that can be worn year-round.

I thought about doing that. I think it would be fun for the kids to make.

The scarves are great - I've done them with late elementary school Girl Scouts and if you don't try and control the outcome, they turn out really nice. The girls, honestly, were a little disappointed that the scarves didn't come out according to their vision, but let go of the idea of vision and just see where the dye takes you and they are beautiful.

Quick, too.

The bookmarks were trickier for the girls because they really didn't get that you need to get a really tiny anchor bead next to the knot. So we had a lot of bookmarks that needed restringing. If I do that again, they are getting more information on making sure that the hole on the bead is MUCH smaller than the knot - or the next bead in line. One that "just fits" will fall off during use.

What about tying fleece blankets? My daughter loves her soft fleecy blanket. She has a small one that's just right for the carseat or stroller, too.

Speaking of the bookmarks, at camp one year we made "book thongs"...they go in the "crack" of your book. I'm sure you could rename them. ;) They were just string with beads on each end.

I made my kids each a fleece blanket and they LOVE them!

- Draw/write on plain mugs with Sharpies, then bake at 350 for 30 minutes. You could just find/come up with some cute quotes and scribble them on.
- Write words (e.g. cute things like 'love' or more practical things like 'sugar') on empty jars with a hot glue gun (or some other puffy glue that will stick) then paint the entire jar. They look fantastic! http://www.pinterest.com/pin/60869032433376674/
- Jars filled with sand and shells.
- Stress/juggling balls (if you want to do the latter, you could sell them in packs of 3 with instructions!) made out of sand or rice and 3 different colored balloons.
- Decorate plain headbands and hair clips with buttons, fake flowers, bows, etc.
- Cut out sections of old used Christmas cards to make gift tags. They'd probably sell better in packs.
- Glue decorative buttons onto paper clips (then stick a bit of felt on the back of the button) to make bookmarks.
- Bookmarks made of ribbon with ribbon clamps on each end, then attach charms, beads, earrings, etc. to one clamp with a jump ring.
- Stick pretty paper, pictures, photos, etc. on plain ceramic tiles with Mod Podge, do a few coats of the Mod Podge on top then spray with a sealant. Finally, stick some bits of felt or foam on the bottom of the tiles and you have some cute coasters!
- Homemade cards with things like pretty papers, buttons, fake flowers, etc.
- Bookmarks made out of those thick popsicle sticks with cute wooden animal shapes or letters on top. Then, on the day, have someone with neat/cute handwriting write the person's name on the stick with a Sharpie.
- Another one for on the day: paint people's names on plain baubles with puff paint (and glitter, or glitter puff paint). They'll have to come back to collect them after they've dried.

At our church today someone was selling button pins. They were arranged to look like flowers, look like sprayed w/ something to make them shiny, some even had glitter on them. They were $5 a piece, very cute! Also, my daughter's dance school sells those Rainbow loom bracelets, no little girl can resist one!

We were at a craft fair yesterday. We were looking for a baby present. Somebody took a baby washcloth, rolled it up, stuck a lollipop stick underneath it, wrapped it in plastic wrap and tied it with a ribbon so it looked like a lollipop. They were adorable. She had blue, pink or white. We had already purchased a gift, but wanted a little something to add to it.

You can Google "baby washcloth lollipops."

Similar to the polar fleece blankets, but cheaper and much faster, Polar Fleece scarves. Super easy and quick to make, and they look great hanging on a display.

My Mom just did a craft fair last week and her biggest selling item was her 'cord pouch'. She made a rectangular shaped quilted pouch with a flap and a button/loop closure, and she marketed them as for 'all the cords and chargers for your electronics/cellphones/iPods,m etc' and she sold a TON of them. It's probably about 4"X8" when closed. She sold them for $12.

Oh, I like this idea! I might have to borrow it for stocking stuffers.
