just came back from a 6 days girl trip @ SSR. Room was ready 3 hours after arrival - got 1 of 2 requests. We were in Grandstand 8135, a 2BR courtyard view. Room was in great condition, almost as if it had received a paint touch up. Was disappointed to see the Turf Bar no longer had a pool table and was now overflow for Artist Palette. CMs were all pleasant and worked for magic. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Across the 5 days there were no poor engagements - just solid customer service and a fab environment.
However, I have a confession: I don't get Food and Wine. We had a good time, samples were tasty, and variety was okay; however, maybe because I'm from Washington, DC, we weren't wowed or overwhelmed by the options. I'd do it again but with moderated expectations.
When all was said and done, my girlfriend and I were able to pool points for 3 HS girlfriends from class of 1983 to get together and rock the World in a 2BR for 6 days -- priceless.

I don't think that F&W is meant to overwhelm other than the crowds, they are feeding the masses. Like most things Disney plays it up as something more special than it is and the public believes it. F&W is nice but it's food booths and drink, nothing more.

We usually only sample a few of the booths but do enjoy the special offerings. Had an amazing time @ Trader Sam's luncheon:). Even the low-priced beverage seminars are a nice option.
