Hi.

If I book a few nights at a resport for January 2019 with September 2019 points and I decide not to use the rooms and cancel where do the points end up and when do I need to cancel?

I will stalk and waitlist the rest of the nights and already have a ressie booked in case I cant piece together my week.

I also used September 2019 points for my January 2019 trip.

I also plan on going September 2019 so could I use the points then?

If you borrow points from 9/2019, they will become 9/2018 points and expire if not used by 8/31/2019.
They will be 2018 points, and if you don't cancel before the 30 day point, they will be 2018 points in holding.

Yep - You'd be borrowing the Sept 2019 points back into your 2018 UY to use them for a reservation for Jan 2019. Borrowing is a final transaction and if the points were not used they would expire 8/30/19. If you did have Sept 2018 points that were going to be used in a reservation somewhere though the borrowed points could be reallocated to be used there and the 2018 points could be banked into the 2019 UY as long as it was done by the April 30, 2019 banking deadline.

Thank you. Im not going to book it now and its not wven available any longer but could I borrow September 2020 points for a January and September 2019 reservation? Not sure if I should book if it becomes available again since for the three of us we really wont use the living room or kitchen.

You can borrow points from 1 year in the future but not 2. So you would be able to borrow 2019 points into your 2018 UY for the Jan 2019 trip but you cannot borrow 2020 points for that. You can borrow the 2020 points back into your 2019 UY though for the Sept 2019 trips which is in your Sept 2019 UY.
