DH is going to a conference in Scottsdale in 3 weeks. I can go along but we have to make reservations this afternoon. I was thinking about going and hanging by the pool (it's a big resort) during the day and maybe even taking my older son who loves to swim. But, then I noticed that the temps are only in the 70s. Is this warm enough to swim? Does anyone have any experience with resort pools being heated?

ETA: I've emailed the hotel. Just hoping for a quicker answer here.

I think they would be heated. It is warm here...
I'd just ask the hotel when you book.

Thanks. We're not booking through the hotel. We're booking through my husband's company. I might just call them, since we have a time issue.

We were in Phoenix 2 years ago this month and the temps were in the upper 70's and low 80's, which was unusually warm so I was told. The resort we stayed at had heated pools. The kids pretty much swam non stop while we were there so we were at the pools quite a bit. We saw a lot of natives in long sleeves and coats but we were in shorts and t-shirts.

I am in Tucson; our temps are a little bit higher than Scottsdale right now (upper 70s, possible 80s). If the pool is heated, you should be OK. If not, forget it! Our pool is holding at 48 degrees right now.

Well the next 10 days it will only get up to 75, so I'm not imagining it getting much warmer than that in 3 weeks. I would have to assume the pools would be heated. It's the Fairmont Princess. It's a major resort. There was no mention of it on the website only that the pool hours varied seasonly. Makes me think that they're always opened. I'd hate to get there with my son and not be able to swim. That's the whole reason for taking him.

I just went ahead and called the hotel and he said the pools are heated and opened 24/7. Ooh I bet that hot tub is nice at midnight when it's 40 degrees. Maybe I should leave my son at home. :rolleyes1

The pool maybe heated, but once you step out and the dry air hits you a big chill will set in. Also watch the sun.

Our weather has been 60's-70's in the day. but we are in a warming trend over the next week...Friday is supposed to be 78, a record. nights are high 30's and low 40's. It wa 39 when I drove to work this am.

I would swim in a very heated pool only. It would have to be heated to at least 92 before I would get in.

ps...we have a pool, not heated, and the water is hovering around 59. :cold:

Was in New Mexico this week--daytimes could get warm--but the nights were frigid since it is the desert. Personally--the water temp would be too cold for me. We saw an abundance of hotels with indoor pools advertised. This was in Las Cruces. I don't see Arizona being too much different as a climate.
