Quick, fun sitdown restaurants for lunch?

I just ordered the Disney Dining Experience card, and, as most of you know, it is mainly for sitdown restaurants. We have 2 VERY active sons (ages 2 and 4), and we were planning on doing the majority of our meals counter service. Now that we have the card, we will probably do more sitdowns, but our kids get very antsy. Any suggestions for some good sitdown restaurants to take kids for lunch--places where we can get in and out fairly quickly and where the kids will be mildly amused?

We have PS's for breakfast at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace, at Ohana for dinner, and Le Cellier and Alfredo's for lunch. I was thinking Coral Reef would be fun for the kids to watch the fish. We are staying at the Contemporary, so monorail resort restaurants would be nice along with MK. I don't want to do any more character meals as they are so expensive and our kids are too excited to eat anything.

I think you have select some nice places for the kids.

The Contemporary might have a new adult restaurant in 2005, depnding on when you are arriving at the CR.

You might consider but also look at their menu over on Debs to see if there is anything your kids will be interested in eating:

Whispering Canyon Cafe - Wilderness Lodge (by boat) lots of kids games here
California Grill - Contemporary Resort (its a family restaurant) Dinner Only
Garden View Lounge Afternoon Tea - Grand Floridian -Boys like it ? not sure
Kona Cafe - Polynesian Resort (great food) Quick meal

Teppenyaki Dining, Japan - World Showcase - Epcot -knife show at the grill
Tempura Kiku, Japan - World Showcase Epcot - sit at a counter and watch
Chefs de France, France - World Showcase - Epcot - good food
San Angel Inn, Mexico - World Showcase - Epcot - scenery+++

There are lots of other places too....like Boma, Artist Point(Dinner), etc

Take them to the Sci Fi Diner at MGM.... they will love sitting in a car to eat and watching sci fi movie clips.

I would have to vote for Whispering Canyon at WL. They are great with the kids and the adults have a lot of fun too.

Besides Whispering Canyon, I would suggest Prime Time Cafe at MGM. We always have a lot of fun there and the place is loud enough that every little sound made by your kids won't be heard.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. Prime Time sounds like a good idea for our MGM day. I thought the Kona Cafe menu looked good (and reasonably priced!). Teppanaki might be fun, too, but I'm afraid the kids might try it at home:0

I agree! My mother took my DSs(then 7&4) to Sci Fi over the summer. She said she never saw them sit so still and quiet, LOL!

How about ESPN? Lots of tvs and sports memorabilia to keep them interested.

Another vote for Kona too. Its one of our favorites.

Sci Fi will probably be more fun for the kids and the lunch menu sounds MUCH better for me. We've done Whispering Canyon, so we've had the waitress antics before.

I was also looking at the Afternoon Tea menu. There's a kids' meal of pbj & chocolate milk (my 4 year old's favorites). It might be fun to take him there while his little brother is napping. Are there characters there or any other kind of entertainment? He has had fun meeting the princesses in the past, but I'm sure he WON'T want to go when he's a little older. So this is my last chance. Any thoughts?

germany in epcot is a great place to keep the little ones entertained while the big ones enjoy their meal (oompah band and such)

i'm sure they would enjoy Hoop Dee Doo Revue! or maybe mickeys backyard bbq!

trail's end at the campground is a great buffet which is very kid friendly...
