Hi all, my son’s school is pushing back their end date due to the virus, and I’m going to have to push back the start date of our trip at least one day. We already have our fast passes. If I modify the reservation and push it out to start a day or two later, will we lose all our fastpasses? Do you think it would make a difference if I waited to modify until we were in the 30 day window (since there is currently no holding penalty)?

Thank you. This trip was a reschedule from closed WDW spring break - changed to closed HHI-changed to early summer. And yes I know it‘s possible WDW won’t yet be opened, just trying to manage what I can at the moment (which these days feels like very little). :guilty:

Thank you!

My understanding is that if you booked exactly at 60 days feom check in date and then drop those dates, the FPs will indeed go away unless you have a new reservation for those dates.

You won't lose all your FPs. As long as you have an onsite stay booked for the days of your FPs you will be fine. You'll just lose the ones for the cancelled days. We had a split stay last year that we needed to change so that the first part of the split stay was cancelled (and rebooked as the end stay). We of course lost the FPs for the stay that we moved, but the FPs for the original second part were intact.

This is a good point that provides a little hope - we have 2 four day split stays. In theory, the second part should stay intact right? But still assuming we’d lose all 4 days of FP from the first stay if we modify to start one day later?

You will only lose the FPs for the days that you cancel as long as you have an on-site stay and ticket entitlements for the remaining days.

People who have replaced one onsite reservation with another one have been fine as long as the new reservation was linked to their MDE before or no later than 48 hours after they cancelled the first one. Since you’ll just be modifying your reservation, you’ll be fine.
