Hi all! Hosting thanksgiving here and trying to get myself organized. Looking for some goodies to put out before dinner but I need things that can be SUPER easy or done ahead so I can be focusing on dinner that day. THANKS!

I just picked up something at publix that makes a great snack for guests...it their deli tarragon chicken salad and put it on top of stone wheat crackers or baget rounds. They had it sampled today and it was yummy!

a jar of red pepper jelly poured over a block of cream cheese...serve with crackers.

celery stuffed with cream cheese and olives.

softened cream cheese covering bottom of a plate, covered by cocktail sauce, topped with imitation (or real) crab. This would be served with crackers.

1 bag of meatballs
1 jar of salsa
1 jar of Apricot Jelly

Throw them all in the crockpot until they are hot. Im telling you this is great.

I pour either chili sauce or cocktail sauce in addition to either a can of shrimp, clams or crab over cream cheese. I ALWAYS have these things in my pantry/fridge so I have a great appy to take anywhere at a moments notice. (no need to spread onto a plate...too much work...just plop that block on a plate. If you are REALLY concerned about this, buy the whipped cream cheese. But there are never leftovers of this one--and I always just plop that brick down:>)

Great one we had recently. Wrap cocktail weinies in bacon (could do several days ahead). Put in baking dish, sprinkle w/ brown sugar (good covering). Bake. YUMMO

Not quite as budgetary, but my FAVORITE appy in the world. Saute purple onion & dried cranberries in butter or olive oil (could be done several days ahead) On TG day, pour the mixture over a Brie wedge & bake at 250 until soft & gooey. Serve w/ crackers. Brie wedges have been on sale for 3.99 all over this week.

I do a variation of this for taco chips:

Spread cream cheese on a platter, about 16-18 in across,
Then I pour salsa over and spread, top with fine grated cheese, your pref, I get the Mexican blend,

Then I put on top sliced black olives.
Or what ever you choose,

This has been a hit and EVERYONE ask how it is made where ever it goes.:flower3:

Baked brie is really nice, just wrap it in puff pastry and stick it in the oven for about 15 minutes. If you want to be extra fancy you can cut the brie in half and spread on some jam for a sweet filling or an herbed cheese spread for savory. Serve with crackers.

If you can do a hot appy, take: 1 lb. hamburger
1 lb. sausage
1 lb. Velveeta, cubed

brown meats, drain, add Velveeta and cook over low until melted

use to top party rye, or similar little bread slices and then bake or broil just to warm up--seriously yumm-o!!

Round of brie topped with crumbled blue cheese, bake in oven until gooey. Serve with slices of french baguette, sliced green anpples, and fresh figs halves. Very good! I've done it in the microwave too in a time crunch and it was still really good, but it doesn't brown.

Quarter and core pears, stuff with herbed goat cheese and wrap in proscuitto, pepper to taste. Bake in oven until proscuitto is crispy, drizzle with a little honey. Oh, man are these yummy!

We lovetodo variations of pigs in the blanket.

"Hogs in a Blanket"

Pieces of polish sausage rolled in cresenct dough

"Piglets in a Blanket"

little smokies (love the cheesy ones!) wrapped in cresenct dough

Delicious and can be made ahead and then baked

Brown 1 pd Italian Sausage (spice as you like) in fry pan
Take 1 block of Creme Cheese and mix the browned Sausage in to the creme cheese.
Stuff the Mushrooms with the Mixture
Put Parmasan Cheese on Top (or Motzerella)
Bake in Oven 15 mins at 350

SOOO YUMMY and sooo easy

One I like at to do that is sooo easy is just a block of cream cheese either spread out or leave as a block and pour premade pesto on top. Serve with crackers. Takes like 2 seconds and is super nummy. Also this looks very christmasy with the bright green and white.

My goodness! This sounds absolutely divine:cloud9:! This is definately going on my Christmas dinner menu.

Another easy one...mix 1 jar of chili sauce with 1 jar of grape jelly in a sauce pan. Cook over low heat until they are combined. Pour it over meatballs or cut up smoked sausages in the crockpot and keep on warm.:)
