We just returned from a quick and awesome trip! I thought I would write up our dining reviews to look back on in the future. We had some fabulous meals and can't wait to go again!
We arrived on a Sunday and headed to Disney Springs. I had a few options planned but our crew were immediately drawn o D-Luxe burger. We were very pleased with our choice. I ordered the El Diablo and it was delicious... not hot at all, but the fried banana peppers were just perfect on top. It was amazing! The fries and garlic ranch dipping sauce was really good, too! We left stuffed!
Monday we had lunch at BOG and everyone loved their food. My girls and myself all ordered the braised pork without sauce (we don't love mushrooms). It was not dry and was delicious. The triple chocolate cupcake was moist and very rich. We were all super pleased.
Monday night we headed to Whispering Canyon Cafe. We were a little early and they worked us right in. The salad was good and had fresh, crisp apples in it. The cornbread was so good that we all ate way too much before the entree arrived. We all shared the skillet. The brisket was good and tender, the pork was fine, the ribs were very good but probably overdone by others standards... I like mine a bit dry. The chicken was good, too. Everyone loved the corn and the mashed potatoes. We all ordered the ooey, gooey skillet cake. It was a mix between chocolate cake and pudding with vanilla ice-cream. Delicious.
Tuesday was breakfast at Tusker House... we all enjoyed and left stuffed-- nothing exceptional, just a good solid breakfast and great character interaction. Tuesday evening was Ohana. It started a little rocky, we were 30 minutes early and went ahead to check in. The older lady checking us in chastised me for being early and was very rude. While we were waiting, someone puked in front of the bathrooms. Instead of cleaning it up, they threw towels over it... it stayed that way for quite some time.. it was finally cleaned up when we left. Gross start, but the meal redeemed itself. Everything was delicious and our waiter was fantastic. I just love the noodles and the bread pudding, could eat it every day.
Yesterday, we had Via Napoli for a late lunch. This is usually a favorite but it was actually our least favorite meal of the trip. The pizza was fine but nothing special this time... service was slow, and nothing was really as special as we remembered (except for the tea!).
We ate at Old Port Royale at CBR last night and lounged in the hot tub. The food was good and huge portions... and the food court was not crowded. We ate outside on the deck and thoroughly enjoyed our last night at the resort! I did miss the magic cookie bars we had at POR on our last stay but it was still a great trip and great food!
