Quick! Chewing Gum Catastrophe!

My son just walked in the door and he's got chewing gum smeared and stuck to all his fingers. Apparantly he'd been playing with it in his hands in the car. How do I get this off? It's on his clothes too!

Do you have something like "Goof Off" at home? That works. You could also try peanut butter, but I think that's what you're supposed to use if it's in your hair. Good luck and I hope it comes off easily!

If he is not allergic to peanut butter, schmear some on and it will get it to come off. (It also works when your child covers themselves in nail polish... heh!)

You guys are awesome! DH thinks I'm crazy....running to the computer at a time like this, but I knew you all would know! (sign of a true DIS addict!)

We have peanut allergies here, but the pb idea had me think about oil so we tried olive oil which had started the job...but then the baby oil finished it.

We will try the skin so soft for the clothes.

If it is near the face, then pure mineral oil is good, as you can actually ingest it. Learned that during the nail polish incident too.

Imagine a 2 year old covered head to toe in purple tiger stripes. I did not know whether to laugh or cry. I had gone to the store and left the kids with DH and our DD5 found an old bottle of nail polish in the basement and brought it up to "paint a picture with". Somehow DD2 got it and decided she needed to decorate herself! Meep!

All it takes is a second out of sight with kids, I swear! lol

Took me almost 2 hours to get it all off of her, as I did not want to leave it on her skin in case any of the ingredients were harmful.

I think my mom and the Dr got a HUGE laugh out of that one.
