Quick carry on question contact lenses?

I've never taken a box - but I've had no problem with 4-6 strips of 5 lenses/strip in my ziplock bag. I've never had a need to take a full box even with dailies.

I’ve never had any issue getting through security with them, even taking 20 or 30 at a time into the plane cabin.

Recently saw a TSA update that you can now bring a full size bottles of contact solution in your carry on as well.
I think you have been able to that for a while. You were just supposed to declare is as "medical" before screening.

I could easily be wrong though.

I’m pretty sure you’re correct. My son has flown with a full size bottle of contact solution for years with no issue. He just put it in his tub and catches it on the other side with everything else.

I would check the TSA website for the latest list of what is/isn't permitted. Generally, if you have checked luggage, it is best to put things in there you plan to use while on vacation vs items you will actually use while in the air. Some airports may impose more restrictive measures for any number of security related reasons.

International yes. US Airports have the same rules.
Sometimes it's easier to comply then wait for a supervisor. Sunscreen IS subject to 3 1 1 policy. There was a brief time when the TSA website wasn't clear. Some people think it qualifies as medical.

It may be easier to bring the travel size bottle of contact lens solution.
Technically medical exception is for what's needed during your flight and a few days. I don't want to waste time discussing reasonable amounts.

My actual experience over the years has been that some domestic airports are far more strict on how they interpret the rules and what is permitted in your carry-ons. Put items you won't actually use when in the air in your checked luggage and then it won't cause an issue.

All US airports have the same rules and regulations, but they are not all applied equally. Nail clippers, nail scissors, knitting needles are all things that are specifically allowed by TSA policy, but are regularly confiscated at checkpoints around the country.

Agreed. It's easier to discard stuff then have "discussions" with supervisors.

I ise Bosh&Lomb solution. They had a 2oz bottle, which I used, but the last time I went shopping for it, couldn't find it. Found a 4 oz. I've been through three (?) airports, including ATL, and haven't been questioned about it. Also don't declare it.

Don't know if the fact I,'m TSA Pre makes a difference.

OP, I would suggest having a small bottle in your carry on. You can be delayed or have a "contact emergency" where you'll want/need some.

That being said, I can't imagine taking a trip long enough that I would need a full size bottle. That's just me though.
