Quick breakfasts?

I have searched everywhere and cannot seem to find what is available for breakfast each day if staying at DLH besides the expensive character meals. We will plan on doing this, but not every day. Where do you get a quick breakfast in the morning if staying at DLH? We were looking for something that is hot and more than a bowl of cereal, but not a big sit down meal. At WDW they have the quick service counters in each hotel, but I can't see that DLH has this. Thanks!

There is a coffee shop at the DLH where you can dash in and grab tea, coffee, espresso, OJ, muffins, danishes, etc. We did that several mornings.

We also went to a grocery store upon arrival, and picked up plastic bowls and spoons, cereal, milk and some other snacks. We're not big breakfast eaters, so a bowl of hot or cold cereal in the morning and some coffee was just right.

You can also get beignets at the Jazz Kitchen (so I've read) in DTD. There's also a counter service restaurant there that served hot breakfasts and coffee, though the name escapes me at the moment...

There is the Compass Book Store which sells things like Krispy Kreme donuts, milk and coffee. It is one of the first places you come to on Downtown Disney, just past the DLH. The Rainforest Cafe does breakfast, they have this breakfast pizza thing that is huge, my family of four can share one of those and a kids meal and be fine. Inside the park, we enjoy the bakery items at Blue Ribbon Bakery. If the park opens later than 8:00 a.m., it will be open 30 minutes early. If opening is at 8:00, thats when it opens. The Riverbelle Terrace in Frontierland has some nice inexpensive (by Disney standards that is) breakfasts. They have eggs and bacon platters as well as Mickey pancakes, cinnamon rolls and a few other things. You can sit outside and have a nice early morning view of the Rivers of America. Walt Disney himself used to enjoy doing just that! There is also a place in Tomorrowland that sells breakfast (or used to, I normally go to Riverbelle or Blue Ribbon so I haven't been there in awhile. ) And as another poster mentioned both Ralph Brennans and the La Brea Bakery in DTD sell breakfast items. Thee is a Jamba Juice in DTD as well and a Wetzels Pretzels for quick stuff in the morning.

You can also go to the Whitewater Snacks in the Grand Californian. This is counter service and they do have breakfast items. This is especially convenient if you plan on going to DCA. They open pretty early.

The coffee shop at the DLH is very near Goofy's Kitchen. And you can also order room service, they have a baked goods basket that has about four things in it for pretty cheap. Their omlettes are huge. My family of four has at times ordered one of those baskets and one omlette to share. Its pricier but nice and conveninet and definitely cheaper than a character meal.

I send my hubby to McDonalds. There's quite a few fast food places around, but you need a car to get to them from the DLH. We do that a lot, we want to eat quick and get to the park, and really don't want to spend a lot either.

LaBrea Bakery is a great place to grab a quick breakfast. Heading from the DLH it is at the end of DTD on your right, right before the bag check area. We usually eat there each morning.

Thanks! That helps. I have a feeling we will either be eating at La Brea Bread Co. or I will be making a run to a fast food place. We usually like to get in the parks as soon as they open so we will have to see which option lets us get the earliest start. This will be our first trip to DLR. We are on the East coast and have had numerous trips to WDW. Our routine while staying on property there is to get a hot breakfast from the quick serve dining areas at each hotel. However, we then have to usually wait in lines for a bus and take a ride to the parks. It will be fun being steps away!! No waiting in long lines for buses to go back at midnight.

We found La Brea to be unbelievably expensive compared to the breakfast places at the DL hotels. At the GC there is a nice little self serve restaurant that is quite reasonable.

I would probably venture into the GC, to white water snacks, rather then eat at LaBrea. The prices are better, and the portions are large. At LaBrea I would go to the "express" (to the left when you go in) rtther then the full service side. You might also try Jazz kitchen express. They have breakfast sandwiches and that type thing. We havent eaten there but the menu looks pretty good.

When I mentioned La Brea earlier I was referring to the express area! I find the princes just abuot the same as other places and the food and coffee are very good!

How long of a walk is it from DLH to GC? Is it possible to walk there, eat and catch the monorail over to the Tomorrowland entrance before DL opens??

We love to go to Jamba Juice and get juices for the whole family with a little protien punch. This lasts us until we eat an early lunch in the park. It's great to walk through Downtown Disney when it is not so crowded and people watch.

We'll be there May 23-25. Can't wait!

It will only take about 5-10 minutes to get from the DLH to the GC. Yes, you can catch the monorail in, but you are backtracking. You can just go from GC to the front gates.

Oh, I see. I just realized that the monorail does not have a stop inside the GC. Is there any advantage to taking the monorail into Tomorrowland to get closer to attractions vs. going through the front gates?
