Queues and rider swap

Is it possible for children to go through the queues with both parents and wait at the boarding area with one parent during rider swap until the other parent gets off the ride? Does it make a difference if the child is tall enough vs not tall enough to ride? We would love for the five year old to see the queues at Expedition Everest and Dinosaur and Thunder Mountain Railroad. He is 40 inches tall but doesn't want to ride some he is tall enough for, but also some he is not tall enough for of course.

If the child is not tall enough for the ride he will not be allowed into the line.

You can do what you propose on rides that he's tall enough for. He will not be allowed in the queue if he is not tall enough to ride.

Well he can't wait at the boarding area for rides he's tall enough for, but he and an adult would exit.

Now at universal they allow everyone to go through the lines. The too small one and an adult wait in the swap area near seating.
