Hi everyone,

Once you pass the ROFR process and receive your contract how long do you have to sign and return it back with the money?

There is no hard limit other than what the broker and seller will allow. There are deeds I've seen on the Orange County Comptroller site where the ROFR waiver was nearly a year before the deed was filed. There is no rhyme or reason.

That said, if you wait more than a week or two, expect to start getting worried emails from the broker.

You should discuss your situation with your broker.

we missed the email with the closing docs sent 8/22 and just signed/read/got the cashiers check today/tonight. The broker emailed us last week to check on us. The title agent told me not to worry when i apologized

The initial purchase and sale usually has a closing date which is used as the outside date to complete the transaction. It's normally around 8-10 weeks. Assume that if you start to flirt with that date you will get a nudge from the broker.
