So now that I am less then 1 month away I am thinking about all the last minute things. One silly question, we are sending my dress and my mother's down to Carolyn Allen, where did you brides who have done this get a large enough box? Also, I am prepaying for the steaming as well as my hair. Did you tip Carolyn Allen the day of the wedding? If so, how much? Also, how much tip for the girls who came to your room for hair and makeup?

for the dress I'd to be safe take it to a UPS store and have them pack it, they'll have a box big enough and they insure that it will get there undamaged if they pack it.

As for tipping, I'm budgeting a 20%-25% tip for hair and make up.
I'm not sure about tipping for the steaming.

First off...congrats!! It's almost here! You must be so excited!

As far as shipping your gown, I also went to a UPS store (and shipped to Carolyn Allens)and they measured how big of a box would be needed and they packed it for me. Getting a box there is sort of pricey considering other cheaper office places but I would rather have peace of mind than a cheapy box.

Regarding tipping, we used Beaute Speciale and we were able to add the tip on the card when we prepaid, so I just asked her to add 20% to the total cost. My gown was delivered from Carolyn Allens to my parent's room and I think they just gave a tip to whomever showed up (between $20-$50 is my guess). It was my gown, my mom's and two bridesmaids dresses. HTH!
