Hello
This is our first time to Disney and I have lots of questions. I would appreciate any answers I can get.

1. How far in advance do you order Birthday cakes? Can I get a cake ordered at the Cinderella's Royal Table? Is there a phone number to call?

2. Fairy Godmailer - What does a person have to do if they want to be a Fairy Godmailer. We are traveling from Oct. 13-20th and I would love to do this for someone if I knew what I had to do.

3. Barbershop at MK - Can you make an appointment to have your child's first haircut done? What's the best time of day to go? How late do they stay open.

Thanks again for any help.

Kathryn

1. I ordered DH birthday cake about a week out when we went over his birthday last year. We had it at Liberty Tree Tavern. You can have it anywhere. Just call Disney Dining and they'll give you the phone number and add to your ADR that you are celebrating a birthday. Remind them when you check in for your ADR.

2. I might be wrong, but I believe you just find someone who wants a postcard mailed from Disney during that time period and do it. Maybe having it signed by a character or something...?

3. No appointments. Walk-ins only. They are open park hours. We always have the best luck during parades or in the early morning time. It just depends though. I'd try it first thing, and if it is crowded just check back later.

I think the Barber shop closes at 5:00. We've done it both years. My kids like it, and the price isn't too bad.

Two other suggestions for the birthday celebration during your stay at WDW. I stayed at Saratoga last year and requested that balloons be delivered to the room. Just be sure to request it ahead of time. Also, don't forget to go to any park's guest services desk that day for your birthday button. The cast members don't miss them and it's a nice way to get some extra special attention - Santa Clause even wished me a happy birthday from way up on his parade float last year!

How much do the balloons cost? I am trying to do everything special for my DD's 5th birthday in Jan. and she would love this, too!

I was wondering how the liberty tree tavern meal is? I booked my daughters b-day dinner here. I just called to ask about the cake and they said I didn't have to pre-order if I didn't want anything special on the cake just the generic Happy Birthday. I just have to remind them that we having a party when I check in and then tell them that I need the cake. They must have birthday cakes in stock?

LTT was one of our favorite meals in August. Although the food was just average, the characters and the atmosphere were wonderful. We even witnessed someone receiving a birthday cake when we were there - surrounded by lots of CMs. I think it would be a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday.

I have found that during the parade was best. There was a short wait, but you don't mind it too much when you have the parade going by to watch.
I also had great luck- no wait at all 3 weeks ago at 4 PM.

You can't beat the atmosphere at LTT. The patriot's platter has turkey, beef and pork. There's also mashed potatos, veggies, stuffing and mac n cheese. We celebrated my b-day there last year. They had the table pre-decorated with mickey confetti and curley ribbons. My cake was small (chocolate, i believe) but served it's purpose.

Thank you all for your comments about LTT, do you have any pictures of the table, I would love to see them! Thank you!
