Hi All....
I am still waiting for my ring...after 5 years and his completion of the 3 things he had to do before I say "yes." (long funny story) I guess I can be patient...right?
Anyway...mom and I have been chatting about weddings and where to have them...I am in love with Disney and BF is learning why-it took me kicking and screaming to get him to Disney...and probably less that 6 hours for him to be taken by the magic of Disney-Now in 2007 we are headed back for 3 land and 4 sea again...

Anywho...one of the things my mom brought up with a Disney wedding is cost for the guest...What are the requirements? Do they have to stay on Disney property? What would it cost for guests to get there etc?

Anyone have any insight to this?

I know...I don't have a ring...but its fun the think ...maybe someday...

there is a lot of info on this board so look away - It can't hurt! :)

in terms of costs for guests....well there will be costs for them, Plane expenses or travleing and room stays wherever that may be. Also food during their stay and tickets if they want them. Think of it like this..they are taking and paying for a vacation (big or small) and going to a wedding.

Disney does not require all your guests stay on property but there is a catch. As a custom bride (intimates are different) you need to guarantee Disney that your guests and you will use 25 room nights on property. So lets say you stay for 5 nights and your parents stay for 5 nights you have 10 nights towards that min. nights. HTH

The room night minimum for a custom bride actually goes up the more people you're inviting to your wedding. If you have 41 and over for example (like we are), then your room night minimum jumps to 50.

Thanks for the reply...do they have minimum room nights for intimate weddings?

Adventure Guru, I completely understand about where you're coming from when you say you don't have a ring. I'm getting married at Disney in November, yet he hasn't asked me yet and I don't have a ring. Nor does his family know. But they will this Sunday. How funny is that! Very long story.... Keep your chin up. It will get there.

The only minimum room nights requirement for intimates are a 4 night saty on disney property- for the bride and or groom.
there is no set rule as far as your guest having to stay on Disney property- as an intimate bride, I am however requesting that all my guests stay in a WDW hotel since it is easier on me to kind of help keep track of kids and parents and our guests.

That's so funny:) The ring is just a symbol. My dh and I decided at the end of February last year that we wanted to get married...we started planning the wedding (I was actually embarrassed at the site visit b/c I was afraid they were going to think we were not sincere b/c I had no ring), sent out STD's, Invitations, newsletters, and THEN on June 28th, four months later and just two months before the wedding, he actually proposed and gave me a ring. It was sort of comical because people would ask how long have you been engaged...OR...how did he propose...and I had to explain that he hadn't yet:) We were in the process of buying a house and there is only so much money to go around!

That said--nothing wrong with getting some planning done. If you have a tentative date, the sales people at FTW will talk to you:) You'll find the requirements are not hard to meet...especially if you and your fdh stay for your honeymoon. The DVC (disney vacation club) is VERY helpful thing to look into also. Feel free to post or pm with questions!! We are here to help:)

Thanks for the postitive comments. Sometimes I feel silly wishing upon a star. This is a day that I have dreamed about since I was a little girl...and he has reached all the requirements. When we were dating I had just gotten over a bad breakup and told him there were 3 things he had to do before I said yes to a proposal...
1. Remember that my birthday and Valentines Day are 2 seperate events on the same day... (We celebrate bday at midnight and vday about noon)

2. Send me purple roses (he has done this twice...once to work and once when I was in the hospital)

3. Take me skating at Rockefeller Center in NYC...which we just did this Jan. When we first got there it was under about 3 inches of water-I was crushed and figured it was an omen and time to end the relationship...at about 19:30pm...we were coming back from Ground Zero and he said he would take me to Tiffany's...Well to get to Tiffany's you have to take the yellow R to 57 & lex...he wanted to get off at Time Square...if we had gotten off at 57 & Lex...we would have never had to walk by RC to see that there were people skating and that we could go too...I nearly cried!!! It was great!

Now, I wait...patiently...We've been talking about buying a house...which is good...actually its great...but I soo want my fairytale...I know that sounds nuts...but I do...

So...if you have any pixie dust to share...please send some my way!!!

Thanks for listening...
