Questions regarding reservation process.

I will be calling MS next week for our first DVC trip since becoming members. I will be requesting (as 1st choice) a non-home resort. At this point we do not know if we will be able to stay 4 nights or 6 nights (because of work release days). How should I handle this situation? Our trip will be from Nov 5th -8th or Nov 5th-10th. If I reserve the 5th through the 10th and then have to change the dates is there the possibility I will lose the room (do they cancel and then rebook?). Also, do I call April 5th or April 6th for the best advantage at 7 months?

Make your reservation for 11/5-11/10. Cancel the last two nights if you don't need them. If you try to add them after the fact, there might not be any vacancy.

If you need to cancel the last nights, be sure to do so prior to 31 days before arrival, AND within your banking window so you can bank the points (unless they are Developers points, which can't be banked anyway)

Thank you both. We should know in plenty of time if we will need to cancel the last two days. We just do not know "now" and I did not know how to best handle the uncertainty.
