Questions re: SS Resort

Does anyone know when the expected opening date of the SS Resort will be? I was wondering when we will be able to call to make reservations...

No exact date has been released.

My current understanding is that the resort may open in Spring, 2004. Until an opening date is announced, no reservations will be accepted. It is expected that presales for the resort will begin sometime later this year and opening date information will likely be released once that announcement is made.

BCV began sales in early Feb, 2002 and opened July, 2002.

Hey Rombar! This fall you may want to start watching the DVC website on a regular basis. I remember the day they started accepting reservations last spring for Beach Club, they made a posting on their "members only" section saying they were now doing that. I suspect they will do the same thing when they start taking Saratoga Springs reservations. Just a thought.

I think what the OP (and me, too) was wondering about was reservations to stay there. Would that start the same time as presales? Sooner-later? Whenever someone hears something at a Member's update, please post. Also, wouldn't a point schedule have to be released first before anyone can make ressies? I know I don't want to make ressies until I know the point structure.

The Saratogian.com reports in thier article about the Disney Saratoga Springs:

"The opening of the first phase is scheduled for May 2004, in which all of the amenities -- check-in, pool, restaurants -- will be operational. Then Disney will open one building a month with the completion date scheduled for May 2005."

"Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will sit on 45 acres and contain 12 buildings with more than 550 units. It will feature four types of accommodations, similar to Disney's other Vacation Club properties."

Captain Midnight.... I always enjoy reading your comments. You are right, that site you mention talks about this massive project for Saratoga Springs. The interesting thing is, the official Disney Vacation Club website (disneyvacationclub.com) lists this as a much smaller DVC project. The members only section says Saratoga will be 184 units in four 3 and 4 story buildings, on a 16-acre site. I wonder if the Saratogian mixed-up SSR with the proposed Eagle Pines development? Interesting. I'd love to read your comments.
