My apologies in advance if questions are answered elsewhere. I have really been all over the boards soaking up all the information I can find; however, since we are newbies to Universal, my OCD side is still searching for more answers! Most of questions are specific to my trip....which is Wednesday, December 15th :scared1:. We have tickets for Thursday and Friday with no park hopper (sorry, I know that's a WDW term) option.

We are staying at a "partner" hotel to take advantage of a larger room and a complimentary breakfast.

1. Can you upgrade your tickets to include the "express" feature once you are there?

2. Given our dates--16th and 17th--do we need to? I was hoping these dates wouldn't be too crowded....but I am sometimes overly optimistic:cheer2:!

3. We are planning to do IOA on Thursday....in my mind I thought it would be more crowded on Friday. Does that sound like the best plan? This is a surprise Christmas present for my two oldest boys (14 and 15) who are still HP buffs. I figure we'll be exploring every nook of the WWoHP until lunchtime. We plan to do lunch at the Three Broomsticks then explore the rest of IOA. They are older, so I know there are some things we can explore "quickly!" They will love ALL the thrill rides, and I think they will enjoy the Grinchmas show--I know I will:woohoo:! I was hoping to eat at Mythos for dinner. But somewhere in my reading, I think it may only be open for lunch....anyone ever had dinner there?

4. We have very little in way of a plan for Universal Studios on Friday? Any suggestions of must-dos that we might miss?

Thanks so much,

Tracy

1 - Yes.

2 - Don't know. But the good news is you can wait to see the lines for yourself once you are there and then make the decision to get Express.

3a - Yes, Thursdays are typically less crowded than Fridays, and you want this most especially at Harry Potter (in IoA).

3b - I haven't, but Mythos is open for dinner.

4 - I like Revenge of the Mummy, HRRR, Simpsons, Shrek, Jaws, and MIB, but your mileage may vary. Twister and Terminator are okay too I guess.

Tracy...see below:

1.) Express Plus passes are separate tickets...they will not be attached to your park tickets. You can purchase the VIP Express tickets but those already include your park admission.

2.) You probably won't need them but after arriving and checking out the lines, if you decide the lines are too long for you, EPs can be purchased at any number of stores throughout both parks. Don't worry about it ahead of time. EPs are date specific and non-refundable.

3.) Food service at the park restaurants stops 30 minutes prior to park closing. The closing hours for IOA on 12/16 & 12/17 is 7pm and 6pm at the Studios so you might want consider having lunch at Mythos and choosing somewhere in CityWalk for a later dinner. I guess it would depend on when you had lunch as to when you would want to have dinner.

4.) I wouldn't tell anyone to skip any attactions at either park. Do as much as you can and enjoy everything both parks have to offer. Some are better than others but you should try to see everything.
