I was was trying ot find answers to some of my questions in ref to our stay at AKV Kidani but I have been having problems with the seach feature so I'm hoping someone can help me out so here it goes:

1. We have a standard studio any suggestions on a great area to request?

2. Where do you check in? Does Kidani have their own check in area if not where do we check in?

3. This is our first DVC visit do we have to bring anything with us to check in besides our ID, do we need our confirmation paperwork? The reason I ask about this is I just made our reservation and we are leaving for AKV in 11 days if we don't receive our confirmation in time what do we do?

thanks for all the help

You check in for Kidani at Kidani they never asked me for my DVC card. I did bring the conformation you can print one from the DVC website. We asked to be closed to the pool.

I have never needed my printed confirmation at check-in time, nor our blue DVC cards either.

We stayed at Kidani last July & LOVED :love:it. We will ask for a room close to the lobby next time, as there are some rooms that are quite a hike from that area (lobby also has the gift shop and you can refill your mugs in there....very handy).

Hi CTC:

We've stayed in Kidani many times, actually a Grand Villa just a week ago and no you do not need anything except a photo id. Personally I like staying close to the lobby because we like to frequent the soda re filling station and like the to walk outside to the fire pit. Kidani is much quieter and more intimate than Jambo house it has a really nice vibe to it. The lobby is small so we got to say hello to the staff and they remembered us. We like the underground parking, especially in the rain. I guess my only advice would be request a room close to the lobby, everything else is absolutly perfect. The only downsize to Kidani is you have to walk over to Jambo house for your breakfast which fills up quickly so be sure to head over early.

Hope you enjoy and hope I helped some.

We stayed in a standard studio last Sept. We asked to be close to the main lobby elevators. Our view wasn't the greatest (parking lot bus area), but we weren't in the room that much so we really had nothing to complain about. We were able to see animals at all the viewing areas and while waiting for the elevators.
We brought our DVC ID cards but were never asked for them. Only thing we needed at any point was photo ID. Check in at Kidani they have their own lobby.
Have fun we Love it here

How far is the walk from Kidani, to the restaurants at Jambo?

Not more than 10 minutes. It did not take my family even that long...note that we did not have young children in tow.
