questions on golf carts and parking cars?

My one year mark is coming up and my understanding is that I can reserve a golf cart for the Fort that far in advance. Since I'm going to be there Thanksgiving weekend next year which is a busy time, and I know I want a cart, I'm thinking I should go ahead and reserve.

Do you have to pay the full amount when making a reservation for a golf cart or a deposit of any kind? What is the cancellation policy on golf cart reservations if I change my mind?

Also I know you can't use a regular car to drive around the Fort in, you can only go to your site and out of the campground. It looks like there is a really big parking lot right by the outpost depot- is it okay to drive to that parking lot and park our car there to catch a bus to the parks?

You can park down there to catch the bus. I have never had an issue with that the few times I had to keep the truck close by. I bring a golf cart and actually just park my truck in the overflow area for my entire stay. Less clutter at my site with the golf cart there instead of the truck and golf cart.

When I made a Disney cart reservation, there was no deposit. They will take your card number and then charge your card the full price the day before you pick it up.
