My FIL just called and told us he booked two rooms at the GCH over the Christmas break. The rate is $300, so I am assuming its a standard room. We would like a joining rooms, and from the sounds of what I read, something close to the lifts correct?

My daughter will be four years old, so the kids club is out - :( (she loves that kind of stuff!) on this trip..

BUT I think I recalled reading once when I was at DLH that they had a Disney Turn down/or wake up service? Is that correct?

Also, I read that they will have tons of stuff planned for the kids, to do. Do we have to sign up in advance? Any idea's on what that will be?

We also have early access to the park, would that be on both days, or just the 2nd day? (ie check out day?)

any other tips?

ohh how is the breakfast?

thanks so much!

You can get early check in on your check in and check out days.

I want to know what dates you have or how you scored GCH for only $300? I am looking at some dates before Xmas and they are coming up $480/night!!

we are going on the 21st. My FIL got a email from Disney they had rates starting at 229.00, but those rooms (limited I assume) were already sold out. So $300 for a standard room is what we got.

Magic Morning (old name Early Entry) is offered on Tues, Thurs, Sat, and Sun. It means you get into DL an hour earlier than normal opening time. People not staying onsite can get 1 MM day with a 3 or more day ticket. Staying on site means you get MM each day it's offered during your stay (assuming you have admission for that day of course), and that includes the day you check in (if you get there early enough) and check out, assuming either (or both!) of those days is a MM day.

And it's worth knowing that DCA opens at 9:30 every day (that I've ever heard of, at least).

I haven't yet stayed at GCH, but I know that they have special things for guests (DLH and even PPH have some of the same things). At PPH the things were listed on an info sheet in the lobby. some of the things you needed to sign up for; they'll tell you everything at check in...and if they don't, ask!

Dang that is still a great deal! I am also looking at Dec. 19-23 and the rate works out to about $480!

Have fun! Maybe we'll be there too if I can score a deal!

The GCH has turn down service nightly. You can call and arrange a wake up call if you wish to have one. Make sure your FIL requests that the two rooms are joining rooms. I usually call about three to days ahead to make sure that the request is still noted and to ask again. I have always had my joining rooms request honored in the past because my kids took the other room. Always nice to have the parents nearby!
