We have stayed three times at ft wilderness cabins(all in June) but have talked hubby into pulling down the pop-up the last week of Febuary 09!!! First how is the weather that time of year? we are from ohio so it will be warmer than here!!!!!Are the pools heated or will it be too cold to swim? and how are the crowds? My DD15 is going with a school group so Im taking the little two( DS10 and DS21 months) Thank you

We were there this past Feb/March and the weather was really nice, we had a little rain, and it wasn't as warm as we would have liked, but we made it into the pool a couple of times.

But the Crowds were pretty bad, compared to other times we have been there, (oct and may) I can say that we probably won't be going back this time of the year again. But hey, it is Disney and the Fort, so you will have a blast no matter what!

The end of Feb is considered a Peak time so crowds will be up but not impossible. I'd plan on needing heat in your pop-up . It can get cool (40 degrees) at night. We usually turned the heat on a couple hrs in the morning and that was sufficient. Bring your swimsuits, chances are you will get some pool time in! The pools are heated. Being from Ohio too, any day that was above 75 and SUNNY makes for a good day in the water for us. If its a windy or overcast day its not so good.

I agree with John and Susan.
Bring your swimsuit,,and maybe a robe. The pools are heated. We have gone swimming in very cold temps and had our robes ready when we got out,,mmmmvery nice.:thumbsup2

We always bring clothing for cold and warm weather when we go in Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, and Feb. It is central Florida, never know what the weather is gonna be....Be prepared.

Ya'll have a great time !

We go every february but it's always a crapshoot with the weather. We go 2-3 times per year but I always pack the most for our february trip. You might need winter coats if you stay at MK until a midnight closing, but then get lucky and swim the whole next afternoon.

A little heat at night is needed, but if you're from Ohio (we're from PA) I'm sure you'll think the weather is delightful. Just seeing green grass, flowers, and a little sunshine in the middle of winter is wonderful whatever the temperature!

thank you, the pop up has a furnace, but truthfully we prefer a small electric space heater. the furnace you either freeze if its too low or roast if its too high, and there doesnt seem to be any in between. I am glad to hear the pools are heated, and we are excited about going to the parks and not losing 20lbs sweating. I was also surprised that it is peak season, I figured the end of feb would be slow. Does anyone know how it compares to the beginning of june since thats the only time we have ever been there. thanks

Feb. would be a bit busier than June, but not as hot. :thumbsup2

February vs. June- The peak season starts on Valentine's Day (President's Day weekend). College Spring breaks start about mid-February and run until about the end of April. The week before Easter and the week after Easter are very busy as well. It's because the weather is much, much cooler to enjoy the parks which is why the resort rates are considered PEAK. June, July, August, September-are the HOT months not to mention the rainny season.

Personally, we camp in August the first week of value season and just before the start of school. It's cheaper :worship: and we enjoy the water parks to the fulliest :goodvibes
Thanksgiving Week is my favorite-we get to enjoy the christmas decor and it's much cooler!:santa:
