I heard something from a friend about a deluxe dining plan that allows for more table service meals. Can someone tell me about it and can AP holders get it???

Thanks!

The basic DDP which costs $37.99/day/adult includes one snack/day, one counter service meal/day, and one table service meal/day (appetizers and gratuity not included).

The DxDDP which costs $69.99/day/adult includes a resort mug for everyone in the room, two snack credits/day and three meal credits/day, which can be used for counter service meals or table service meals in any combination you choose (3 one credit TS meals/day, 3 CS meals/day, 1 one credit TS, then a two credit signature restaurant/day, one CS then a two credit signature restaurant/day, etc). The DxDDP does include the appetizers, but gratuity still not included.

The DxDDP is very flexible and can be used any way you want. For example I am using it for both my trips in May and in Sept, but am using it different each trip. In May I am going solo and have always wanted to try all the two credit Signature restaurants, so am eating an early lunch everyday at a one credit TS restaurant, then using two credits every night at a Signature restaurant. In Sept I am traveling with a diabetic who must eat three meals/day, so we are doing a one credit TS restaurant three times a day. With the DXDDP you don't even have to step foot into a CS restaurant if you don't want to. However, if you want you can also use those same three credits I'm using at TS restaurants for CS restaurants. The choice is yours whether you use your 3 credits/day as CS or TS.

oops! I forgot the second part of your question. Up until just a few weeks ago, in order for an AP holder to get the DDP we had to pay rack rate for the rooms and buy at least a one day MYW park ticket for everyone in the room. However, Disney has now changed this and AP holders can now buy the DDP (at regular price), keep the AP discount on the room, and no longer have to buy a one day park ticket. Adding the DDP, does turn the ressie into a pkg, however. Meaning it must be paid in full 45 days prior to check in and if you make changes or cancel within 45 days of check in you will pay a fee. Also when making the ressie make sure the CM does not add travel insurance, as some will do.

Now if you want the free dining that's being offered for Sept, then unfortunately that's another story. You must follow the rules for a MYW pkg, which means pay rack rate for the rooms and buy a one day MYW ticket for everyone in the room. Your AP does you no good for this particular promotion. The free dining promotion is for the basic DDP, but for the difference in price between the two ($32.00/day) you can upgrade to the DxDDP.

You have definitely answered all my questions - thank you so much.

I'm trying to figure out if this would be a good deal for me and my DH. It's essentially dining for $140.00 a day for the two of us (I rounded it up to $70 each). I don't think we spend that anyway - but then again - we don't eat 3 TS meals a day - sometimes we do, but often we don't. Hmmmmm....well at least they are offering it to AP holders who want to keep their room discount!

I'll have to think about this more.
