The first post in this thread has complete information about the changes to DAS.
Only the first post is kept up to date.
Guests can either request registration for
DAS in the theme parks like previously or by advance registration by video chat.
To answer you questions quickly:
If I have had DAS in the pass several times do I still have to have a picture taken.
Yes. My daughter has used DAS since it began in 2013 and she used GAC (Guest Assistance Card) before that. We have been to WDW 4 times since June 2021. In June and October 2021, we registered at a park. In February and June 2022, we registered by video chat. The CM took a new picture each time and asked us questions about why daughter needed DAS each time.
The informaction I’ve gotten is that they are not ‘renewing’ DAS; guests can apply to re-register for DAS.
Can I do all of this on an I-pad.
The 2 times we registered for video chat, I used my iPad with the Safari browser. It worked fine.
What web site do you use?
The link is on the WDW website on this page. Look around the page; the link is on that page.
Are you like on a zoom call or face time?
It starts out as a text chat, where you may wait for many hours before getting answered. After a few questions, the CM will ask permission to send you a link to start a video chat. After clicking the link, the video will start and the CM will ask a few questions regarding your concerns about waiting in lines. If DAS is approved, a photo will be taken during the video chat.
