We passed ROFR and are in the process of waiting for our closing documents....

our contract has 200 banked points YU March. my intentions were to sell the banked points to a broker and pay off the contract with a the sale of the banked points. Now I am concerned that I will not be able to sell the points due to all of this craziness with the virus. Should I worry about loosing the banked points and not being able to find a reservation before they expire... or am I stressing over nothing.

I don’t think I would be stressed if I could see what the availability is Now at the end of the year with everyone changing their vacations around.

So you'll need to use/sell those points by the end of February, 2021? If so, I think you're very unfortunate with your timing, but you still might be able to get some takers later in the year. But between delayed/postponed stays, extra points in the system (that aren't being used right now), and with 2021 coming up (the 50th anniversary), availability could be challenging. That being said, it's just too soon to tell for sure.

Where did you buy? If things stabilize and you find a taker for your home resort, you might have better luck 7+ months out. Congrats on your purchase. After a rough start here, hope you get to enjoy it for years to come!

Honestly, given all the mess happening with rentals right now, I wjld count on it being a lot less in terms with what you can hope to get for the points.

Right now, the fall is already very busy and with closure right now, summer will also fill up quickly now with people trying to reschedule.

So, once you have the banked points and can actually offer them to rent a reservation, nothing can really be known.

We purchased BWV this is very stressful time to purchase! For us it was great timing financially when we put the offer in and wow smooth sailing! We waited years to do this now all of this. I feel like a baby crier ppl are sick

I don't think that the rental market is going to completely disappear overnight. It may be slightly more difficult or competitive to rent out your points, and you may not get as much for them as you originally intended, but it is likely you will be fine.
