Hi, we are thinking of visiting Disneyland this November from around the 17th to 24th. We are coming from Australia and wondering if this is a good time to visit crowd/weather wise? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. P.s we are thinking of staying at the HoJo...any reviews would be great also. Thanks!!

We LOVED Hojos! We had the premium Disney view, but I have heard the standard rooms are great too. Looks like your dates are available for the Entertainment rate too!

I think November is a good time, weather won't be too warm, you might need a light jacket at night. Kids are in school during that time so I don't think the crowds should be bad. Even in July though, the crowds were not bad. Take advantage of FPs and start your day right when they open and there are not many lines.

I'm not sure when the Christmas decorations go up, but that would be fun if they are up in time for your visit! :)

The Holiday fireworks and the Christmas Fantasy Parade will likely start on Friday, Nov 20, 2009.

The weekdays before Nov 20 should not be too crowded.

HTH :santa:

Something to keep in mind is that Thanksgiving is on November 26 this year and I know the parks get crowded for the long weekend but I'm not sure how the crowds are earlier in the week. I would think it would be more crowded than the week before though.

Just keep in mind it's our winter, so it's starting to get a little chilly at that time of year. :goodvibes

A friend of mine just went last (Mid) November and she had a BLAST!!! She said the line ups were like non existant and walk on most of the time. I saw loads of her pictures and the park looked as slow as she had mentioned. Instead of seeing like 25 people in the back ground, you may have had 4-5.

I know this thread is a bit old, but just wondering if Nov is swimming weather at all???

Must be a popular time for us Aussies. We (a family of 3) are also heading over to DL in November from the 30th November to 6 December. Didn't realise about Thanksgiving being on the 26th.

Should the crowds have cleared by the time we are in DL. Also we arrive into LAX at 8.15pm on the 30th. Any suggestions on whether we are better taking the Grayline DL Bus, Super Shuttle or a Private Car.

I don't mind taking the bus but as they only run hourly after 7pm, the shuttle/private car may be more convenient.

i went in November last year 16-20th and it was perfect. The lines were smaller than in the summer. i was in a skirt and light sweater and tank top during the day, mid day it was warm enough to take off my sweater. Night time though i did change into jeans but the light sweater was still enough for up top. It was actually a really nice temperature, not boiling hot while waiting in lines. It was the weekend that the Christmas decorations were put up too, it was so pretty. Definitely one of my favourite times to visit. :santa:

You are actually choosing a great time to visit Disneyland. During the weekend - Fri, Sat, & Sun the crowds will pick up significantly, but there will be minimal waits the rest of the week. Also, the holiday decorations will be up and the whole resort is great at that time of year.

This depends on what you are used to. I was at the HoJo last night (for the all-girls trip pizza party), and there were people swimming in the pool at 10pm. I've seen people in the pools at the Disneyland hotels all throughout the year, even December, January, & February. Unless you are hitting an unusually cold spell the pools should be okay to swim in.

You will be going at a good time. The crowds will be insanely busy from Nov 26-29, however, will slow down considerably the week after that on the weekdays in the first & second week of December.

Personally, I would rather rent a car and have the flexibility to sightsee, run to the store, etc., however, if you do not really want to drive, you can make reservations for either the Disneyland Resort Express or SuperShuttle, or wait until the next one shows up, if you'd like.
