We are headed to IoA in a couple of weeks. This is our first trip to a Universal park. I have a few questions.

1. I don't want to bother with a locker. Can I wear a fanny pack onto the rides? I am not a big person so I don't think the pack would take up much extra room. There are just a few essentials I'd like to take along, but I won't take it if I'm going to have to end up putting it in a locker anyway.

2. What are the best places to eat counter service?

3. Can we leave the park an re-enter the same park later that day if we feel the need to take a break?

4. If we don't want to leave the park where is a good place to go and take it easy for a little while?

5. Which rides will we get wet on? Since we are going in December I'll probably want to avoid those.

Thanks for all your help.

My answers below:

1. You can wear a fanny pack as long as it doesn't impede the restraint closing but I would suggest cargo shorts/pants with lots of pockets just to be sure.

2. Counter service recommendations: Thunder Falls Terrace and Blondie's.

3. Yes...you can leave and re-enter the same day.

4. I think any area would be a good spot...I just find a bench and camp out for a while.

5. You will get wet on: Ripsaw Falls, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges and possibly One Fish Two Fish (if you don't follow the song) ;).

::yes::

If your kids are young (age about 11 or younger), I'd head over to the Suess Landing kid play area, "If I ran the zoo." Your kids can play and you can sit on a bench and relax. Also there is a play area in Jurassic Park also. That area is a little larger and somewhat harder to watch the kids though. If you want to rest in an air conditioned area, head over to the Discovery Center which is also in Jurassic Park and let the kids loose in there and you can sit and watch.

1. Maybe pull your shirt over the fanny pack so they don't make you put it in a locker. I'm going to use one of the travel money bags (AAA) that you can wear over your neck and tuck in your shirt or bra. They're very lightweight. I can fit money, cards, tissues, lipbalm, a comb, etc. I could probably fit a small tube of sunscreen, but it might bulge out too much.

2. I've heard good things about Three Broomsticks

3. Yes

4. There are also fun restaurants out toward the parking garage. A friend raves about the cheaper of the two Emeril restaurants.

5. I'll be avoiding them too.

I think Burger Digs in the Discovery Center can accolmplish both of these. There is an outdoor seating area that overlooks the central lagoon and you can see all aspects of the park (except WWOHP). That is my favorite place to eat and relax.
