Hello to all. I will be taking the family on our first trip together to WDW in Sept. and needed some advice.

We will be flying out of NY on Monday and returning on Friday. We will be staying at Pop Century, and the plan right now calls for visiting Magic Kingdom for 2 days and Animal Kingdom for 2 days. We plan on using the Disney Magical Express service to and from the airport.

My questions:
1. Would you fly/arrive into FLA early morning Monday and go straight to one of the parks on the 1st day, then check into the hotel that night, OR is it a better idea to check out of the hotel on Friday, visit one of the parks for the day and go straight to the airport after?

2. Is the Disney Magical Express service available to me after I have checked out of the hotel? So if we check out, visit one of the parks and want to go to the airport, I can still access it even though technically I am no longer a hotel guest? Would I have to go back to Pop Century to ride the bus back to the airport?

Thanks for any responses/help.

I think it would depend on your flight times. If you got there at say 10am Monday morning, then I'd go to the parks and then check in. If your return flight is later, then go to the park and to the airport.

Are you worried about adding another day onto your MYW pass? Adding another day at that point will cost $5 max more per person.

The resort will give you a time that you need be on the ME bus to go back to the airport...usually 3 hours before your flight time. You can check out and do whatever you want until that time.

We also fly out of NY early morning. we tend to take magical express to the hotel and check in. we have been luck in that our rooms have been ready and our luggage already there. Sometimes your room will not be ready or your luggage hasn't arrived. We usually pack one of our carryons with things that we would need at a park in case our luggage is not there. If room is not ready bell services will hold your carryons for you until you come back and get them. We would then go to the park and hopefully everything is set when we get back. (like i said though we have been ready and had a room to go to where we can place our stuff and go to the park from there)

As far as the return trip. We usually check out on time and then try to have a late flight. Depending on your airline you can check your bags at the hotel and then only have to worry about your carryons. If you can't check your bags or have carryons that you do not want to carry around at a park you can once again have bell services hold them for you. They tag them with your name and keep them together for you until later. We then enjoy ourselves at the park and return to the hotel in time to get our bags from bell services and get onto Magical express.

Hope this helps

oh and yes you would need to return to Pop to get the ME bus from there, (unless you have a rental car).
