Although I have visited both USO and IoA I have never stayed on the Universal resort. Happy go say we just booked our first stay!

We are there for four nights- 04/29 to 05/03 and Im trying to decide whether to buy three or four day tickets. We don't arrive until around 6pm on the 04/29 and this would be day 1.

What time do the parks stay open until? If they close early then I don't want to waste money paying for a day I won't use.

Parks close earlier than Disney. The 29th and 30th they close at 9pm.Hours arent out past that, but there are Grad bashes on the 2nd and that closes the parks at 6pm

We've got a similar dilemma. I think my plan is to buy a three day ticket online and then, if we decide that we do want to hit the parks the first night upgrade it to a four day ticket once we're there. That's something we can do, right? How about upgrading to park-to-park, is that something we can do once we're there as well?

I was always going to do park to park but now think il only do three days not four. By the time we've gotten through immigration, collected our bags, transferred to the resort and freshened up there won't be enough time. City walk on the first night it is!!

yes.
you can upgrade at guest services inside or outside the park.

you can add another day and upgrade to PTP.

if you decide you want to make your tickets park to park, do that on the first day you use the tickets.

when you upgrade PTP, all the tickets reflect that.

why wait until the last day to upgrade, when you could utilize them from day 1 to hop.

We never make the parks the day we arrive at RP...........we either eat in Jakes Bar or Margaritaville and Citywalk once or twice. It's usually around 6 pm when we get to the RP too.

I would wait till the next day when you will be refreshed and can really enjoy everything :thumbsup2

That had been our plan last August, and after a traumatic 14 hour drive, 11 of which were through heavy rain, I figured we'd check in to the hotel and crash. For some reason, as soon as we drove into Orlando, we both felt an overwhelming desire to get to the parks. It was around 6 PM and Universal closed at 9, so we went directly to the park, then checked into the hotel around 10 PM. I'm hoping to do the same this trip, even though it's kind of a waste of a park day - we just get too excited to wait.
