We have never been on a cruise before, please help.

1. Sounds extremely stupid, I know, but I haven't a lot of time to search posts: Would you fly to Orlando airport to get to the cruise?
2. We are planning a last-minute 1st anniversary trip and are planning on the 4-night cruise, but we aren't able to do DW, has anyone only done the 4day cruise and not DW? IS this something that you can do?
3. If my DH is seasick, is it better to book a room with a window or veranda or doesn't it make a difference?
THanks so much for your help in advance!
Laura

Orlando is the closest major airport to Port Canaveral. It depends where you are coming from. No, you don't have to stay at WDW in order to go on the cruise. We did fly in a day before our cruise and stayed near the port, so we were there first thing in the morning. (They opened up the drop off about 10:30am the day we left. ) I would recommend staying the night before highly! We've read about so many people that missed the boat because of unforseeable flight delays. (We sweated out our family (9 members) catching the boat on time last year in Seattle. for our Alaska Cruise. They just made it! Of course we went the day ahead.
From the cruise you could go directly to the airport. We did go to DW. We booked it separately. It was a heck of alot cheaper than the land /sea package. Disney transfers are expensive too - make sure you check into other companies for the tranfers.
I can't tell you much about seasickness - we had a Veranda room and we really didn't have any problems.
Hope you have a great 1st Anniversary! We went on our 1st Cruise (DCL) for our 25th Anniversary! We went on the 3 day - it was just too short! We're booked for next year for the 7 day, with the double CC. We fell in love with Castaway Cay! You'll enjoy every minute! :mickeybar

I can't give you any advice on the flying since we're within driving distance.
As far as not doing DW before or after the cruise, that's up to each person. The DH and I will be taking our 2nd cruise in Oct. and won't have been to DW either time. We will go eventually, but right now we just want to do the cruises.
As far as sea sickness, my DH thought that he would probably get sick, since he sometimes gets motion and car sick, but he never actually got sick on the cruise. He did take some meds the first day, and was fine for the rest of the cruise. We had a verandah room, which I thought would have been better to have just in case he had of gotten sick. I would hate to be closed up in a room with someone sick.
HTH, and have fun cruising!

Your best bet to prevent seasickness is booking a cabin lowest deck and at the center of the ship. That being said, if you think fresh air would help, you'll need a veranda, as portholes and windows do not open. You really spend very little time in your cabin, especially if it is your first cruise, so for the prevention of seasickness (cabin wise) choose a lower level, center. If best place for relieving seasickness (without meds) is up on deck, looking at the horizon.
