Hello everyone,

I'm starting to get a little apprehensive about our upcoming trip to WDW. We've visited a handful of times in the past few years, and while I've never been a BIG eater (DH and I would often split meals), this time is even worse.

I will be 22 weeks pregnant on our trip (in 5 weeks) and CAN'T eat too much in one sitting (and that's not counting the FL heat and being able to sit/lay down after I eat if I start to feel sick!) Luckily, the morning sickness seemes to have passed, but I just can't seem to eat more than 1/4 of a NORMAL meal - let alone an oversized resturaant meal.

What complicates it even more is that there are SO MANY things that have been bothering me since I've been pg- so I would really hate to ask DH to split with me - no dairy, no tomato sauce, no strong garlic, nothing greasy, etc.

I thought I'd order a lot of CS children's meals, but Hamburgers, Mac & Cheese and Hot dogs WILL NOT work - what CS locations offer a wider menu?

Do any of the TS or CS resturants offer 1/2 portions? What about TS - any of these have children's meals beyond the typical "children's fare".

I know we'll probably slip in a few character buffets, where I'll have a lot of variety - and although DD love them, I'm not going to love paying a ton for me to eat 3 bites - however, DD gets such a kick out of it, it will be worth it a couple times during the week - but the rest of the week, I'll need more reasonable options.

Bless your heart and congratulations at the same time. :goodvibes

Most restaraunts will accomodate you. Most childrens CS had lots of more nutritious, unfried choices that are pretty tasty. I've asked for some very plain, boring food before and was just smiled at by the waiter as he was saying no problem.

Have fun and take it easy, lot's of rest and water!

Hope you feel more yourself soon.

I can offer some suggestions for when I was in the "can't eat that much" point in my life.

The counter service places will be a bit difficult. I can recommend taking a Zipoloc bag with you and getting one of those huge Disney World pretzels and eating what you can and storing the rest for later. Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom has chicken wings (not greasy and with two sides) on its kids meal. The Lotus Blossum Cafe had a good kids meal of beef fried rice and an egg roll (not sure if this is available with the refurb going on). If you can handle just fries, you can get just that.

For table service, it can be a bit easier. Look first at the appetizers. Nothing says you can't have one of those for your meal. You can just get a side salad for your meal. A cup of soup. Just indicate to your server that you'd like that for your meal and it'll be brought out the same time as your husband's meal. You can even order a dessert as your meal.

For me, it was hard to let go of the full scale meal thinking. But once you do it, your meals will become much more relaxed for you and you'll enjoy them better. If it's on the menu, you can probably get it. See green beans as a side? Ask for just that. See something with a baked potato? Ask for that with maybe something you can handle as a topping.

I don't like using this expression but think outside the box.

I don't eat much either ... in recent trips, I've shared a kid's meal with my two year old, with maybe a snack later in the park.

My favorite's have been the grilled chicken at Pecos Bills. I'm at work right now, and I THINK that's the name. I got some fries with it, and I was STUFFED. Juliette loved the chicken, ate some grapes, some fries and the goldfish crackers. Then again, I don't eat much.

I'm having a horrid time remembering names, but the rest. right off of Tomorrowland, it has three different choices, my sister got the ribs from the kids menu, and it was a good portion. I was in LOVE with the mashed potatoes and carrots.

I usually eat off the kid's menu at CS, mainly b/c I just am not hungry while chasing my munchkin around the park all day.

Good luck, and congrats! When I was pregnant, I had morning sickness for seven months. I couldn't eat ANYTHING. I can't say I feel your pain, but we're pretty close.

I ordered off the appetizer menu when I couldn't eat a 'real' meal (which was most of the time. I was sick as a dog until 8 1/2 months). Some of the sit-down restaurants also have a 'sides' menu, which worked well too. There were times when I just asked the server to bring me some plain white rice. As long as it was an ingredient they had in the kitchen they seemed fine with bringing me only what I could eat. But I tended to cry a lot, including when I couldn't find something I could bear to eat, so they probably felt sorry for me! ;)

This is one thing that you can cross off your worry list. The WDW TS restaurants are incredibly accommodating for people with special dietary needs.

If you don't find anything on the menu that you think your stomach can handle, you can ask your server for something like plain rice or pasta, a plain chicken breast....if they've got the ingredients in the kitchen, they'll be able to put something together for you.

Have a look at the menus at http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm

When you find some places that look suitable for your family, you can even call the restaurant and ask to speak to someone about your situation, if you want to ensure that they'll be able to make something simple for you. Don't worry about being a pest - people do this all the time, they expect it and have procedures in place for it.

Good luck, and enjoy your trip! :)
