Hi all,

Now in the process of planning a group trip (14) all never been before. Looking at early September. I have a couple of questions i hope will help:

1/ We are planning on staying in the Sequoia. Is it worth paying for the up-graded room? Will it make any difference seems to be about £40 a group extra.

2/ Some of them are thinking of doing the meet and greats. Is it worth pre-booking this with the hotel booking. Or would you just book it when you check in? Also what are the better option's a breakfast meet or a lunch/tea meet?

O why did I volunteer to organise this...The more I look for the answers the more questions I seem to find...

I have never stayed in the Sequoia Lodge, but if by upgrade you mean staying in the main lodge as opposed to the seperate lodges out at the back then yes I would pay the extra. This way you are in the same building as the bar, restaurants for breakfast etc.

For meet and greats do you mean the character meals? If so then yes I would definately book in advance. I personally would book a lunch or evening meal character meal purely because you get breakfast included in your room rate. As for which one it depends on what characters you would like to see. Cafe Mickey is a popular one for meeting Mickey, Minnie etc or Inventions buffet at the Disneyland hotel is nice too. If you just want to meet the characters in the parks then you just need to get a time guide when you get to the parks to find out which characters will be going meet and greats when and where that day.

Hi, I have read somewhere (think its in the brochure but not sure) that the upgraded rooms at the Sequoia are now in the lodges not in the main building, because they were the first to be refurbished. So, you would be paying for a refurbished room, but would not get the benefit of being in the main building with the restaurant etc., so I guess you need to decide what is of most benefit to you.

I would also go for a lunch or dinner character meal rather than breakfast as I dont like paying for something I can already get for free! If you want to book Cafe Mickey then its usually best to book before you go, especially if there is a specific time/date you want.

Thanks for all that. Sounds like its a lunch time date with Mickey and co.

Im even more confused on the room up-grades now. in the booking form when you ask to book a differrent room option the ones you get are:

Montana room (included)
HTLD4TRL4 +£12
Room in lodges -£32
HTLD4TRLH +£12
HTLD4TRH6 -£32

Now 2 options i can work out. But what are the others? Im guessing 1 could be a lake veiw? Any one know...

what you want is a montana room. i would reccomend these as they are in the main hotel rather than the lodges. i really wouldnt pay extra for a lake view.

when you say meet and greets do you mean character meals. if so i would recommend either a lunch or dinner in cafe mickey.

Lunch/dinner meet it is. Would you book this when i book the hotel? I seem to only be given the breakfast option. Or do you have to wait till you arrive and book it over there?

you reserve a table through a different telephone number (not the main booking one). You can do this anytime from 60 days before your trip begins, to just a couple of days beforehand. If most of your group wants to do a character meal together, I'd suggest you phone to reserve a table in advance - the phone number you need is 0033 160 304050 :).
