Questions for DCL brides

must have been an empty ship!!

In 3 of my 4 cruises, I have tried to upgrade at the port and the ship has always been full
(Lisa did have a wedding..not a VR)

Yeah they must have been being extra nice cause my poor husband had to get ready in his parents room with his sister and both parents there! LOL

Oh, my poor husband had to get ready in our room. The Cat 7 was for me and my girls. Of course, he had our stateroom all to himself.

Maybe that's the difference too..the Wonder vs. the Magic...maybe the Wonder is always more full than the Magic so they had extra space available.

I have always heard it is near impossible to get an upgrade at port on either ship.

Then I don't know. I didn't ask for it. Just had the key handed to me the night before our wedding (or early the day of). We'd already gotten such special treatment I didn't even question it...just thought it was part of the gameplan for brides.

well i've got a Cat 6 booked so unless they plan on upgrading me to the Walt or Roy...i'm gonna say i probably wont' be getting any special pixie dust! Pooh! Shoulda booked the smaller cabin! :rotfl:

I had a Cat. 6 too. It was so hard getting ready since everyone was right there. My door was like a revolving door. LOL It was nice to be so loved though. I did feel bad for DH though, he had to get ready in a room with three other adults getting ready!

Jennifer our ship was FULL. There was a big sign that said No upgrades available!

I got ready in "The Roy" and it was the BOMB!!

I think CJLKIM got married when DCL was relatively new to the DFTW and maybe got perks that aren't available anymore. Cheryl was on the Magic last year and she had to get ready in her room too
The last 2 times I sailed on the Magic (in off season no less) , only Cat 12's were available

well than i'll just throw dh across the hall to BFF's cat 11 and he can get ready there! :rotfl2:

You were so lucky Betsy!

I have a Cat. 12 booked for Nov. I am praying for an upgrade!

Your so lucky! I would just like to see the suite. I bet you had tons of space.

So what month would be best for a VR?? I had planned on December since it is our anniversary, but if it is really windy during that time, I might look at some other time. We went in Dec. 2007, but I don't remember how windy it was.

December is great.....You can't predict wind...It just happends and it happends on the water alot!

That makes me feel a lot better!!! :goodvibes When we went in December 2007, we went through a tropical storm one night, so I hope that was just a fluke!!!

Tropical storms in December are rare..most of the wind is from troughs that come down from the north and mix with the warm south air

I like early November..not too hot, not too cool - Cheaper season too!!

I vote for early November! I loved mine. Warm enough to swim, cool enough to not sweat!
